I guess you guys are getting your slingers around June 7th. I am definitely envious. Hopefully they sell some more.

I’m not going get too excited about any delivery dates (they haven’t posted any yet btw) that projected timeline was by a backer, not the actual Slinger team. I’m sure they’ll manufacture enough for retail sales also. Again, I’m not happy about the lack speed, but it can still serve a purpose. Being able to go on to a court and practice hitting is always beneficial to anyone’s game.

Someone gave up the CEO role to bring this guy in so it is not a great sign for the immediate future. Hopefully he can correct whatever needs correcting.

All these changes make me glad that I took the refund. That being said, I'm really curious how the machine actually works once it's shipped, and I hope that those who had more patience than I did are rewarded for it.

Did you receive your refund?

That thing has CHEAP written all over it.
As someone who has used a ball machine for many years....... I can tell you from time to time you will smack your machine with a hard drive.
With this machine your going to hit that nylon bag ....... it is going to rip the cloth!
Wouldn't touch it .... be warned.

So did anyone who stuck with it ever get their machine?

As of now EVERYONE still waiting. They (the creators and team) said it would ship in July. Realistically speaking, I don’t see that happening. Despite the EXTREME delay and reduction in speed, I’m going to wait it out. If it works like it’s supposed to, it would be still be an option when you have no one to hit/practice with.

There is definitely going to be another delay. One of their comments says they will be posting an update in mid-June with a new estimated timeline.

The creator is finally addressing the issue of a refund to the backers. Again I haven’t been very happy with the entire experience. When the Slinger Kickstarter was first presented it gave the impression that it was ready to produced. The Kickstarter was just a way to fund the project. As it turns out, the actual product featured in the promo video was just a prototype. They basically went back to the drawing board to completely redesign Slinger. That right there was enough to **** a LOT of people off! (me included) They’ve finally finished the project and are ready to mass produce it after Chinese New Year is over (yet another delay). This isn’t how I wanted my Kickstarter investment to go, but this ball machine will revolutionize the market.
Do you still think this will revolutionize the market? It seems to be vaporware, which is why the market stabilized to where it is. I would love to see lithium ion batteries as an option to make the machine lighter. It weighs almost nothing when you remove the battery!!!

Do not back a product and expect to ever receive it. If you do get a product it probably will not be what you were promised.

Huh. Seems they have endorsement from the Bryan Bros. No doubt through the new (ex-Prince) CEO's connection.

I suppose this does give the Slinger some credence.

I think they are in production, combined with an angry and vocal preorder population. Try reading their posts.

I hope they come out with a great machine but it does not sound like it will replace the current offerings.

All I can say is thank God I got my deposit back. I wanted it for my kid as that way he wasn't using my ball machine all the time (and he tends to be quite rough with stuff), It's half the speed they promised, doesn't look anywhere near like the prototype they lured backers in with, has permanent spin that you cannot change, remote only goes on and off and it's larger and heavier than intially advertised.

Oh and after numerous promises it still hasn't shipped over a year later and the founder hardly ever updates his backers even when they plead for a quick response.

As a backer, it has been a LONG tedious road with this Slinger team. I still believe despite all the delays and BS updates that it will be worth it. I don’t think it’ll be November. Realistically, I think December will be the delivery month.

For the price of a new racquet..i'm not in a hurry to get the Slingerbag… i'll probably use it til
the new Proton Smart Tennis Machine from Hydrogen Sports come out next summer..
that I also have a pre-order for as well...

How can it be worth it when the machine does half the speed advertised, you can't change any settings from the remote, it's fugly compared to what they lured us in with, is 18 mos delayed and is larger than advertised?

I thought about getting in on that, by comparison and on paper it’s far better than Slinger.

Hadn't watched the video yet but WOW, that machine looks HUGE compared to what I was expected and nowhere near the real contemporary design they lured us in with. I wonder what happens if there is a software bug as there is no WiFi update. Send the entire machine back? With other machines you can just send the control panel in.

New update should've been received. They "clarified" that it's a November final production and shipping, not November delivery. They just delayed it without saying "we have to delay." Nowhere in update 28 does it say that that November was the shipping and production.

They better give us a free machine at this point.

The last update was completely utterly BS! They claim the delivery date the projected was meant for when they will deliver it from China. They knew exactly what they were doing with that update. This has been the worse experience I’ve had with a kickstarter. Delays are to be expected with a new product and trying to mass produce it. The amount of transparency the Slinger team has shown is zero to none. At this rate we may get this next season.

Today I was charged for my original pledge amount, even though I withdrew and received a refund a LONG time ago.

Finally progress on the Slinger Bag! Surveys better be coming out in "1 to 2 weeks..." The latest update also says we'll be getting a free gift and CASE of Triniti Balls. Call me high-hoping but I hope it's not a typo and they really do give use 72 Triniti Balls for use with the machine. Even though it's really late and my competitive career is ending soon, the high school team will appreciate it a lot, it'll be their first ball machine.

Fingers crossed.

WoW so not only is the campaign a mess, they’re horrible at accounting too. What will you do? Since they charged you (again) you could get the finally developed Slinger.

I bought two, one to sell and one to keep. It’s been a nightmare with this project, but in the end I think it’ll be a product in high demand that people will want.

I’m curious to see what this free gift will be. A case of Wilson Triniti balls retails for about $94. They have a partnership with Wilson, so I’m sure the balls are being supplied with little to no cost for the Slinger team. I wish I could sound more positive about the update, the product, etc but it has been an awful roller coaster ride with this whole experience. Joe and his team, CEO, have been less the forthcoming and downright mischievous when it has come to updates, information and full disclosure about this project. Maybe I’ll sell both my Slingers and get one Photon.lol

I replied to the email, and an apology came pretty quick actually. But it did cross my mind for a minute, "maybe I'll just buy it after all...nah"

I was a backer but dropped out when I realized nothing that was promised was going to be delivered, thank God. The machine is much larger and heavier than originally promised, not to mention half the speed and a lot uglier than the cool design they suckered people in with by claiming it was already tested thoroughly on court and it was just manufacturing that had to be lined up. That ended up being a total lie It's going to likely be delivered 18 mos after it was promised.

I keep reading the Kickstarter comment section for this product as I was previously a backer and there is so much misinformation about it. Someone recently posted that they are want a refund because the machine will always have topspin because there is now only going to be one throwing wheel. That was ALWAYS the case. You can see that from the internal designs Slingerbag posted.

There is nothing 'game-changing' (pardon the pun) about this machine. Sure it's only $399 retail but it is not really going to make a dent in the tennis ball machine market place. At that price, top speed of only 45mph, no vertical oscillation, having to pay extra for horizontal oscillation and a fabric outer shell that clearly will not withstand the test of time it's mostly a toy better suited to children who may not keep practicing. You are better off spending more and buying a serious tennis ball machine like Spinfire, Lobster or even Proton although that machine is just vaporware and probably won't be released until 2021 even though they are promising next summer.
