Ferreira is a great recruiter.
Add Memphis to your 2016 list. They are also a very young team. 4 freshmen, 2 sophomores and 1 senior. They have a good recruiting class coming in as well.
I'm going to attend South Alabama vs UTSA tomorrow. Interested to see some mid-major tennis between two ranked teams. The #1 court will feature two ranked guys.
Tomas is the man. I'm still upset he transferred.
Should be a very good match. Go USA!
Good win for UTSA
Match over? Scores?
They won according to twitter. Unfortunately I wasn't able to actually go. Disappointing because thats the last good match at home for UTSA
Rice blew it vs San Diego. Lost 4-3 and led 4-1 in a 3rd set before blowing the lead.
Usd led all time 3-1. Tough to hold leads then. But well everyone for alone blew it
Drake beats San Diego state 4-2
San Diego State has a big issue at #6. They can't ever seem to win that line. 2-7 vs teams that had a threat to beat them.
Penn's #1 did not come with the team during their spring break trip. Likely cost them a spot in the NCAA tournament. They are a good team
He's been out for over a month - last played on February 14th against Brown.
Portland leads pepperdine 3-1 !!!
Portland Wins!!! What is goin on?
portland was up a set at line #5 and #6 when they stopped the match.
They have 4 freshmen playing in the lineup. Yesterday both seniors lost their matches against LMU and the freshmen pulled out the 4-3 win
Great livescore by the way from a little college and big Congratulations to their success!
Uncw 4-3 over vcu.
Dartmouth beat SMU 4-1
How the heck is A&M CC ranked 40?
Pepperdine 5-2 over Washington.
@University of Texas at Arlington (#63) 28.6 points
@University Texas at San Antonio (#70) 24.2 points
University of Texas at San Antonio (#70) 22 points
University of South Alabama (#71) 22 points
some teams in the #75 - #85 range 16 points.
some teams in the #75 - #85 range 16 points
Loss to Texas Tech U (#24) 0.5 deduction
Loss to ETSU (must be between #75 - #85) 1.1 deduction
Loss to SMU (#34) 0.7 deduction
128.8 / 8.3 = 15.52
good explanation, but still sounds weird...they ve not beaten anyone better (i think if u not beat anyone in Top40/Top50 you should not be #40. Their coach seems to understand this system very good. They should fall down later in rankings, but will win the Southland Conference anyway.
Portland is ranked at 68 ! Congratulations !!!
Agree the explanation is good. Disagree their coach understands the system. He could not have known prior to scheduling the season USA, UTA and UTSA would be ranked and float them to #40 at this point in the season. He's got to know he's living on borrowed time and hoping the formula continues to skew in their favor.
Agee with this. A lot of coaches make the mistake of scheduling teams who were good the previous year. Corpus's schedule is definitely due to much rather than amazing foresight this year. But they should win their conference easily, as long as they stay in the rankings they will get a 3 seed rather than a 4
You can see a definite turn around the last couple of years since Shankles started as coach. I played (was on the team) at Lamar 06-11. I only had Shankles for 1 year, but he immediately upped the ante and there was an immediate culture change.
He seems to be doing a great job at recruiting as well as keeping a positive culture for the players. I agree that they are not good enough to threaten the bigger colleges, but I can certainly see top 50 potential within the next 5 years.
Proud of my alma mater!
Actually, you should be #40 if you have done better than everyone from #41 on down, and those teams have probably not beaten anyone in the top 40, either. Or, if they have, they have bad losses that equalized the win.
University of Oregon has 4 losses and one win over a ranked team. (University of Alabama #61) They are #53 this week on the ranking list.
At least TAMCC has multiple wins over ranked teams.
The season and system is working out well for them. Looking at their schedule I don't see any reason for them not to win out up till their conf. tourney. Good luck to them the rest of the season.
Losses hurt. Clemson has a win over Alabama as well as #25 Texas Tech but also has mutiple losses, including one to unranked (last week) Georgia Tech
UC Davis beats Hawaii
GSU loses all but one singles vs South Carolina State, thats a surprise in my eyes
W&M loses to Campbell
SC State has a history of fielding moderately strong teams in the past for a mid-major. Line up often consists of players from former Soviet block countries. Interestingly playing in the #1 spot is former Wisconsin player Rodney Carey.
3rd school? He was at Florida A&M after Wisconsin for a bit.
Right! Keeping up with the transfers is too crazy. Good to see any kid continuing there education and tennis at the same time. Regardless of where or the path they take.
East Tennessee State beat UNC Wilmington 4-1
What about Stock buying uncw...? They are just worse as last year
Ucsb minus galskov 4-2 at boise.
UC Davis lost 7-2 to d2 Hawaii-Pacific.
Ull 4-3 over TACC and 4-0 over Gwu.
TACC losses to Rice and ULL is not shocking. Wonder what Rice and ULL are ranked outside the top 75. ULL has zero ranked wins.
South Alabama 4-2 over ODU
UNLV 4-2 over Utah State
Then they fell to Samford 4-3
Portland Pilotes lost 2-4 vs Pacific and beat St.Marys 4-0
the loss is a surprise to me?
UT Arlington just won at SMU 4-3.
Sun belt is looking strong this year.
Pepperdine 4-2 @ san fran
And now UNCW loses to George Washington. The roller coaster keeps going
