So Djoker at 200 years old on one leg is making deeper runs at tournaments than Carlos?

And beating Carlos. And people think the future of the mens game is in good hands? Sorry… NO it’s not. Not good at all. Bleak in fact. And djoker doesn’t even have a reason to play anything outside of slams at this point

Sinner now needs to bagel djokovic. And I mean bagel him bad. The longer Djoker keeps going with making deeper runs and potentially winning more slams, the less credibility the new gen has

Novak's had an easy run so far: Michelsen (43) → Cobolli (30) → Safiullin (61) → Mensik (65)
Great players ofc, all with high ceilings, but none with the grit or experience needed to take out Djoko, even when running in cruise control setting.
I don't think Fritz will cause too many problems in the SF, so the true test of his current level will be the final against what looks to be Sinner. We'll see then :)

People expect from Alcaraz and Sinner consistency of big 3 in their best years, and that is, most likely, not going to happen. Alcaraz is doing quite well. Sinner is even more consistent, but will see how long he can sustain this high level. And again, big 3 is an outlier, not standard.

The ranking of Novak's opponents has gotten lower with further progress in the tournament. This would have been a good opportunity for some of the players like Dimitrov, Zverev etc (if they were on the same side of the draw) to test themselves against Novak but they lost early.

Big 3 were consistent because of a higher floor and context-driven egomania. No one else can do that kind of thing right now.

Djoker is the greatest hard court player ever. One of the biggest reasons that he's the greatest is that he's been able to play close to his peak for the vast majority of a 15 year span. That's truly incredible. And there's no shame in getting beat by a guy like this. Also, I don't really support the weak era theory. There are 8 billion people on Earth. Djoker is in the top-10 in the world. I don't care what freaking era it is. Being top-10 is incredible. And I'm being consistent here. I hated it when people said Fed played in a weak era. And it also makes no sense to say Djoker is playing in a weak era now. Being in the top-10 in the world is ALWAYS an incredible feat. Now imagine if you could be in the top-10 in the world in your profession. I wish that I could be. If I were, then my annual income would be 40-50 times higher than it is now. But instead, I'm your average middle class person. If it's net worth, then that means you are likely worth 100+ billion dollars. If it's raw bench press, then you are likely benching 650+ without those silly bench shirts(or 950+ with bench shierts). If it's IQ, then you were likely so intelligent, that you were doing college calculus at the age of 8.

I know, right?

Another take on Carlos' troubles: his game takes a lot of energy to execute! That's why you see him getting upset right after winning Beijing over Sinner. What will happen in 5 years, will he have enough energy to carry on?

Sinner and Alcaraz have had insane years and are incredible players. I don’t understand your point.

Djokovic is also no normal 37 year old and a freak for his age. I don’t see the issue. If anything a Sinner v Djokovic final will be great for tennis. We won’t see many more old guard vs new guard so we should savour them.

Great way to talk sht about the GOAT, and about another ATG also, all in the same argument.
Two birds with one stone, good job ;)

The Lion in Winter excites me. I'm fine as long as Taylor Fritz doesn't win unless by some miracle he wins twice and gets the trophy,

Son, Let's be real Barring IW and Bejing Carlos has been bang average on HC for over a year. It has been all Sinner on HC for a year.
Daughter, let’s be even more real, there’s more to tennis than HC. Is Chuck still inconsistent compared to the Big 3? Ofc, but then again so was pretty much everyone else in tennis history.
