So......how does Federer beat Djokovic?

Good point, but Djokovic and Nadal were never bothered much with his chip and slice, so that doesn't bother him that much, so the new racket is still net positive. Also, he was using slice and chip too much, it has become predictable too, now he uses it as a surprise, which is much more potent.

But yeah overall vs lower guys, probably slice hurts him more, because they have more problems with it.
Nadal has some trouble with Fed’s slice though. Even missed a backhand off Fed’s slice during the 4th set break point (Fed serving 5-4)

Because it was used as a surprise tactic, this is why it worked. Nadal has no problems if Fed is using it too often. Especially when Nadal has crazy foot speed and crazy RPM and the slice goes to forehand, since Rafa is a lefty. Rafa's natural game is perfect counter for the slice.

2 ways. Play lights out Wawrinka. Or grinding Simon. Has possibility with the first. No hope in doing the second.

Those odds are really close for a tennis match.

Also children should be supervised while using computers.

that was a wicked slice indeed on a crucial point

similarly Fedr successfully used short slice in the 5th set of AO 2017 in the money time

LOL Roger's going to beat down Novak in this Wimbledon final. 3 sets to love.
Formidable BH. Always taking ball early, Novak will feel dizzy, and will not be able to angle shot as he usually do.
You guys will see what it means to play on grass vs this version of Roger Federer.
Nice sarcastic post.

I am a huge fan of Fred, but your prediction is a dream.

Fed has got to stay aggressive. The key really is break point conversions. 2015 us open finals. I thought fed played better vs Djokovic than the 2015 Wimbledon finals.

But Fed was like 4 for 23 on break points and Novak was 6 for 13. So fed definitely has his chances.

There will be opportunities and fed needs to take advantage of it.

He can’t have a lapse like second set vs nadal on Friday when he had nadal on the ropes. 2 break points 1-1 in second set and just lost it and got steam rolled by nadal in second set. Matches in Wimbledon can get out of hand quickly especially sets if he has a lapse in motivation/concentration by not converting break points.

Personally, I can't see how Roger turns around those second serve and return of serve on Novak's second serve stats. The difference in previous matches, when Roger won and the two finals, where he lost are significant:

In the 2012 semifinal win, Roger won 72% of second serves and won 43% on Novak's second serve.

2014 final: His second serve points won percentage plummeted to 44% and only 35% points won on Novak's second serve.

2015: Improved to 49% won on the second serve, but still no where near enough; 40% on Novak's serve.

Conclusion: Novak hurts Roger on his second serve and protects his own second serve better in their previous 2 finals at Wimbledon.

Fed needs to slice and slice.

I think s&v'ing a lot gassed him in 2014 and 2015. He doesnt need to play extended rallies with Novak but he's gonna have to play more riskier constructed points. I would suggest drop shot Novak a lot. Novak can slide on all surfaces but sliding on grass is still more difficult because of the full sprint leading into the slide and the recovery after are more difficult than hard and clay. Get into Novak's head with drop shots and winning all those putaway volleys after the droppers.
Fred has used the slice and slice tactic a lot today.

Novak has handled that slice up the line very well. Fred hasn't dropshotted much but still taking a lot of risk.

As soon as I typed this Fred uses 2 drop shots to win points back to back lol

He has the talent to serve, should have play all out aggression on Djokovic's serve.

First have to fix the backhand variety, down the line, sometimes dropshots and short slices down the line. Cross court drive backhand can use as attacking shot but not as neutral rally.

Slice and dice is working abit in the final. But Fedr needed a down the line backhand attacking/passing shot. There are many times Djoker ram through the CC backhand when Fedr did the short slice, there are no down-the-line pick ups using his backhand.
