So I orderd my usual RPM Team, and received RPM Blast*... What should I expect?

I'm used to the very low power of RPM Team, and its consistency even after many hours. And I've heard so many bad things about RPM Blast (except for the first 1-2 hours it seems), that I'm a bit affraid. I had to string my racquet anyway so I put the Blast in at 50 lbs like I do with the Team. I just hope the difference won't be too drastic.

I like my polys to have the least power possible, have a minimum of pocketing at low tension (50), and to stay low-powered as they ''die'' (instead of ending up like a trampoline).

What gauge?? Trying to keep glass half full while hemorrhaging badly.....

RPM Blast is NOT low powered, and likely very powerful at 50// keep stocked for customers (17g only) and occasionally use it due to my addiction to changing/ modifying equipment, and never tried lower tension range since know power level

It's a crispy powerful that IS nice, but as you mentioned hearing, not for long -- I've literally strung fresh then practiced about 1-hr baseline hitting drills / 1 practice set and they were DEAD next time out...,,

Insult to injury is they are reincarnated as trampoline after death

Never have or will understand their cost/ popularity and especially popularity AT their cost

It's 17 gauge.

I think I'll ask for an exchange before it's too late. My stringer says he hasn't strung it yet.

Good plan. You'd probably have liked it right off the string machine, and then realized it was a waste of $18 about 35 minutes later.

Damn... it's that bad?

This is nonsense. Blast is a great string. Maybe it goes off quickly if you hit like Rafa. For me, it lasts quite a while and offers great spin, touch and playability.

If you want low powered and control, try TB though. You might even like Cyclone, which is totally dead but does spin the ball.

I just got my hands on a set of RPM Team 17, so I'll string my racquet with it. They're great, low-powered, and vastly underestimated in forums like these.

I'll send back the Blast, though I'm sure it's not as bad as some say.
