for the past 2.5 years. my forehand has been my go to shot. when everything goes haywire my forehand was always my rock. now my forehand is my greatest liability.

i developed a good second serve. very consistent heavy top spin backhand and a crazy backhand slice but my forehand just can't seem to keep the ball in play. my opponents who always avoided my forehand like a plague is now targeting it like crazy. this is driving me nuts beyond reason...

rant over. thanks for your time

have you tried a smaller grip, like removing the original grip and putting the overgrip over the handle? miracles do happen...;)

You focused soooooo much on other strokes that you forgot about improving your forehand to keep up.
Now work on your forehand, and watch your other strokes take a step back.
Progression is a series of ups followed by downs. Hopefully, the UP's get stronger and longer, while the DOWNS, stick around shorter.

I feel your pain op, I wouldnt say my forehand sucks, but it use to be a shot my opponent would avoid at all costs. My backhand was a major liability. Ive know got a backhand that is rock solid but my forehand has taken a step back. Ive been working on it and have almost got it back where it belongs. dont give up buddy.

Sounds like you have a little burn out going on. Cut back on how much you play - play fewer sessions per week and/or fewer hour per session.

Also, maybe read an instruction book or take some lessons or view instruction videos, and spend 3-4 weeks modeling the basics you are learning into your forehand.

Finally, keep it compact. Keep 2 hands on the racket until you start your swing, keep the whole swing small and in front of your shoulders (ala Agassi and Federer), and finish strong - follow thru to the opposite shoulder. My forehand can get sloppy if it gets big or out of sync - best when good shoulder turn, small backswing and finish strong.

Thanks Guys! I have been playing 8 days straight 3 hours per day because i was trying to make up for the three days i missed last week because i am adjusting on my internship schedule. my strings are the same and my whole set up is the same. i feel like i have been favouring my Ad/backhand saide to have less foot work while my forehand requires more running which i like because my running forehand used to be my weapon but that was last week. i will take a couple of days off. my opponent and observers love my forehand it has a windshield wiper and punch action into it which has power and control at the same time. but i think my footwork is worst right now. i will take a break
