i didn't notice them until after her third rd win (really merciless beatdown, which has me questioning does Serena have any heart at all while on court and just how long does it take her to become a human being again) over Venus.

so, is that just a coincidence?

we all know what happened with the Roddick 'mojo' debacle of an ad campaign the year he went out early.

i wonder when Serena filmed these, and just how confident her and her team were that she would do well this tournament???

The Roddick ones were hilarious, especially after they changed them to reflect his loss...showed some tongue in cheek humility.

i'm not saying i have a problem with them.

my main question is about her and her team figuring she would do well this tournament. like when did they feel she would have her game back.

and the commercial with her father was really good, i didn't consider that one aggressive.

it was the 'queen' one and the 'mama said knock you out' one that are quite demonstrative imo.

I just saw the 'Momma said knock you out' one...I thought it was kinda cute. I mean, she's won a bazillion slams, so I would say she's earned some license to do some of these ads. But she's hardly the only mom playing on the tour, so I think it would be cool to include all of them in some kind of commercial (I realize that if its a Nike ad, can't get the non-Nike players in there).

And yeah, it is cool she is a mom and is back to playing, but again...it isn't a new thing, and I would say there are lots of moms out there who have done things even bigger, better, and more important with far less...but that's a whole different thread...hahaha.

Like the LL Chase one because I recognized the song instantly and thought the lyrics work. Hate the Dre Beats commercial because she looks disinterested when they place the crown on her head. Love the RIchard Williams one, an apparently there is an Amex commercial I haven’t seen yet ....definitely a huge ad presence this slam...don’t recall her doing these many different ads for one slam that were all about her with no others. She’ll be fine though presure wise. Interestingly, I thought Coco and Fritz actually posted better results while their ads for Mightystat were running - it could have something to do with accountability, having a boss, people depending on you, etc.
