Timbo you and I are a lock for mixed. Now, which one of us is wearing the wig and making the hideous screams after each shot?

What do you have to lose? I have always said that if I manage to get myself into 5.0 shape I am going to play the us open qualifiers. Who knows maybe I will play out of my mind?

Entered in this already!

Dont hold any hopes knowing some of the teams, but its going to be a lot of fun even taking part.

That's cool. The ABN-AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam has a similar wildcard for the qualies, there's a national playoff tournament which you can enter if you have won the club championschip at your own club. Last time the winner was someone who was indeed already close to pro level, but entering must be lots of fun in itself.

We are playing in Sydney (Jensens)

Was talking to our coaches tonight who have entered at Homebush (both ex ITF players)
As such, Im expecting a pounding... but its still going to be fun.
Ye, we entered today..

I think Simon (Youl) is in my section, so that's probably going to end poorly...

Good thing about mixed doubles is you don't have to go through qualifying. Win the tournament and you get right into the main draw.

The US Open mixed doubles winners this year got to play on Grandstand (streamed live) and were competitive against Young/Townsend, who got to the semifinals.

Looking up their bios, the mixed doubles winners were both basically low level pros. The woman had a high ranking of 169 in the world in doubles and the guy won 7 futures doubles titles.

Do they get any ATP or WTA or ITF or whatever points for being in the tournament in mixed?
