So this is Djokovic's draw to the final of the 2016 US Open

1st round - Janowicz who played like 1 match all season (in January) and had energy for 1,5 hours and couldn't even take advantage of Djokovic serving <100 mph 1st serves for 2 sets
2nd round - a W/O from Vesely
3rd round - a retirement from Youzhny at 4-2 in the 1st set
4th round - Kyle Edmund (who?)
QF - an injured Tsonga (who retired after 2 sets)
SF - Monfils

Compared to Murray who faced a zoning Lorenzi which took some energy from Murray, Dimitrov in the 4th round, Nishikori in the QF, Wawrinka or Del Potro in the SF.

Djokovic had by far the toughest draw of the tournament but this has already turned out to be a strange tournament with him having two walkovers in a row. Who would have predicted that and I don't think I have ever seen that in all my years of watching tennis. I don't understand the point of this thread since he has no control over his opponents or the draw. Besides, I'm not a fan of looking too far ahead since he plays Edmund tonight who is very talented and impressed me quite a bit in their match in Miami. That is no easy match for Djokovic.

This part made me laugh. Dude Paolo Lorenzi on hardcourts? Not exactly a world beater. Murray just played terrible.

However yes, Novak's draw is looking juicy. Maybe Tsonga can turn up and give him a match

Well yeah but I saw the match and Lorenzi just wasn't missing. Murray playing crap or not he would still have to lose some energy to go past him. And that's just the 3rd round.

Yes, Djokovic is going to struggle so much against Edmund. More than he would against Isner.

No, really.

Djokovic's draw was...

Janowicz
Vesely
Youzny
Isner
Tsonga
Nadal
Murray

No one's draw compared to that. That was a ridiculously hard draw that shockingly opened up for him. I think you are just p****d that he dodged a couple of pitfalls so far. It's just the 4th round and you're already whining. By the way, Edmund beat Isner so he obviously is not a walk in the park.

Yes cause it's another free Slam for Djokovic. I expect him to win the next 3 matches losing 1 set at most while I also expect Del Potro and Murray to kill each other in the SF (both have tough draws) so that Djokovic eats the crumbles in the final.

To be fair, he has been whining since forever.

Djokovic beats murray in his sleep these days. Murray has to get over the hump.

So if it's not a weak era then Djokovic is handed Slams. Haha. Once he starts losing then it's no longer a weak era but he has easy draws. Out of every Slam he has won, he won 7 matches in each of them and played the opponent and beat them. Nothing was handed to him. You need a new perspective dude.

What the hell? Dude read your own post again and think before typing anything again. It's a mess.

Did you not go on a rampage of weak era this, weak era that when Djokovic toyed with the field for 18 months in a row? I don't ever recall you giving him any credit for playing at a level beyond everybody else but that it was a weak era. Now a couple of months later, he looks rather human so I guess the era just got strong overnight. Now the new memo is that Djokovic gets easy draws. Laughable.

Del Potro already served Murray a dead tired Federer at Olympics and Djokovic at Wimby, almost did the same with Nadal in Rio,but he won that match in the end.
Time Murray gets a taste of his own medicine :D

It goes to show the state of affairs when Djokovic is "looking rather human", yet still the massive favorite to win every tournament he is in.

Having Delpo around makes things better though. That would be a very nice final

You guess wrong, then. Stop imagining things and then pretend that's how I think.

I don't think he is the massive favorite. He is different and not in a good way. For one thing, he lost that Iceman mentally that he had and looks not quite there. His game is all over the place and not as consistent as it was at RG. That NCYGS took a lot out of him. That would be a good final but I have no idea how this tournament is going to turn out. I hope Djokovic can turn things around at this tournament.

Djokovic has had HOF draws the whole of 2016.

LMFAO.. With a match against a player who played 2 matches this year, 2 walk overs, a 84 ranked player in R4 .. It doesn't even warrant being called a draw !!

Serbian mafia doing a good job placing any and all remote threats on the other side (Stan and Delpo)

Djoko's a lock.

To be honest, even if it's Nadal, Murray, Del Potro, etc all the way, you would still find a way to call it weak. There's just no way to please you. #hatersgonnahate

Are you a grown man using hash tags and talking about "haters" on the internet?

Wildly Exciting=WE?

Murray would be lock for Djokovic US Open title.....I can bet my house on Djokovic winning against Murray in a slam final( provided the Sun isn't super hot, or super windy conditions) and feel safe.

All that needs to happen is Murray losing.

I hope Edmund can cause an upset...or Tsonga going all the way.

I'm eagerly awaiting Edmund to go into Pouille mode tonight. Hope springs eternal. I want Djoko LOCO.:D
Can you imagine? A Tsonga-Monfils SF with DelPotro (or Wawrinka) fighting against Dimitrov/Nishikori in the other SF?

A pipe dream.

In reality we'll have Djokovic beating Murray in 4 sets in the final. So exciting.

Ha ha next gen is revving up nicely Meles, you must be excite :D
I would have cheered for Edmund tonight, just not vs Novak, lol , sorry ;) I'm actually very annoyed he's not playing someone else. I like the kid...

I can't imagine Edmund will be a problem, but then I thought the same for Rafa.

Yeah its nice and I noticed you wanting some old players gone, but I'm sure you didn't mean Rafa.;) Hoping to become temporarily one of the most hated posters when Thiem whips Delpo tomorrow.:D (again I think Delpo wins easily.)

Paging @Meles and @stringertom ...... When is the last time an ATP No. 1 seed has made it to the fourth round of a major having played just one completed match?

The stars are aligning in an extraordinary and convenient way for Djokovic in this tourney....

LOL at those claiming that Novak's draw is tougher. If anyone's draw is tougher, it's Delpo.

Yup.

Djokovic getting a virtual walkover in the 4th rd as well. At least servebot Isner could have made it interesting. Tsonga's the only real test until the final.

Best case scenario is Stan and Murray somehow crashing out, leaving a clear path for Delpo

I'm really hoping we see something from young Edmund in this match. The stage is set for him to at least make Djokovic accountable. Even Novak's fans won't want to see him sleepwalk to another major final due solely to luck and cirumstance..... They want to see him challenged, and overcome those challenges.

Unfortunately, Kyle wasn't able to offer much of a challenge! :(

Don't see anyone left in Djokovic's half of the draw who can stop him reaching the final.

You are suffering man. This is what you need

If Murray makes the final I hope he plays like he did in his last Olympic Year USO!! And tbh I would like to see him rewarded for a season of consistency whereby he made all four major finals.

Very unlucky. The lack of enough match practice might cost Djokovic this Slam. Retirements/WO are good when you get one in a tournament facing a very brutal draw but when one make semis of the Slam playing just 8 full sets, you know it's disaster. Even bigger disaster in this case as Djokovic desperately needs match practice coming back from injury.
