So what did other cablevision subscribers do?

So it's been a few weeks since Cablevision yanked Tennis Channel and it royally sucks. Now channel 795 (TC) is not even showing up at all so I guess there's no chance whatsoever it comes back. Did anyone else on cablevision here just take off to direct tv?

im thinking about switching. it seems stupid to switch just because of one channel... but hey its tennis

It's not just 1 channel on DirecTV. The first week of each Slam they show 5 different courts. Don't like watching Serena and Venus? No problem, go to one of the 4 other courts they are showing.

I'm not a golfer, but their golf Slam coverage is good too. Look it up, but they also use the 5 or 6 different camera approach. Sometimes I put either the tennis or golf on the channel showing everything at once. It is information overload but in a good way.

Make the switch to Direct TV, I went from cable. I don't plan on going back as long as Direct TV keeps with the extra channels of coverage of majors.

I was also pissed off that they dropped TTV during the USO and its still off the menu I dont expect to receive any kind of refund. Its hard to switch but guess I should do so just out of principle ?

"no chance whatsoever it comes back" is a strange conclusion. I understand there's ongoing talks and hard-ball negotiation, per an aquaintance who works for the NJ Devils and is close to cable execs. I suspect it will be back at some point, but it's not clear what sort of package you'll have to buy to get it.
