So what's been your most disappointing racquet used/tried?

The first Pro Staff Tour 90, the one Federer used to win his first slam I think. Worst, harshest feel imaginable. Sickening, nauseating. I even had full natural gut in it.
I think terrible Wilson quality control was a factor because haven't heard so many complaints.

Wilson Pro Staff Tour 90 was horrible for me. Very harsh feel. Gave me greater appreciation of Federer just for yielding this thing.
I demoed it for a weekend and ended up with my only case of tennis elbow in all my years of tennis. Worst racquet experience ever.

Kblade Tour 93. not the racket's fault but it was alot more demanding than I thought. I heard so much about this racket. Then, I got the Kblade 98....a total different beast, 98 was what I thought the Tour was.

I need to add one to the list: Yonex VCore Tour G 330 (the Wawrinka frying pan edition)

I love my six.one and I love my Extreme Pro. I was hoping to find a 12ish ounce middle ground between the two.... basically a newer control frame that does a bit more with the ball.

This thing is just about the wimpiest racket I've ever hit with. It makes a Prestige 18x20 look like a pure drive.

Seriously, what is wrong with this racket? I want to know.

I don't know, man, as a PD user I found the Tour G 330 incredibly easy to adapt to. Granted I have only hit with it for three days so far but wimpy is not the exact word I would use to describe it. Did you perchance string it too high? Or perhaps coming from frames with relatively higher stiffness (Six One is 67 and Extreme is 68) you found it lower powered, which it would be. But I bunt blocked a backhand back into play from way behind the baseline the other day; I would never able to do that with the PD. Or an inside in forehand return I guided for an outright winner.

Head YOUTEK IG Prestige. I tried both the Prestige and MidPlus, but I just didn't like the feel to me.
I would second this (mid version); I've heard so many good things about this particular iteration but when I tried it it was such a low powered stick that I immediately put it down :(

I am probably gonna catch some flack for this:
DR 98
Just can't make it work - no power, huge timing issues and having a hard time finding a sweet spot - the only plus for me is that it's supremely comfortable

Prostaff 95S. Saw rave reviews, bought it used, too light, erratic, and launch angle way too high.
I however love that frame - with same added weight in the upper hoop - but only the black and red version - white and red one had too low of a swing weight

Oh, I wasn't aware there was a black and red version. I was referring only to the white and red 95 spin effect model 16x15 (not the 6.1s).

I must say that the PS90 that I use is disappointing as hell.

I mean, I didn't automatically become Roger Federer, like WTH. I even bought his entire kit including socks, headband, and wristbands for the occasion.

Someone needs to sue Wilson for false advertising!1!!1!

As I recall, those two are actually pretty much the same. I borrowed someone else's 2014 version, and then bought the red and black 2015 version myself when it dropped to about USD 100.

You need to treat them like pro stock racquets--they're almost unplayable without some sort of customisation. I put 8 g in the buttcap, and 4 g lead in the hoop (2 g at 12, 1 g at 3 and 9).

Wilson Burn FST 99s - very pretty frame indeed. But was completely underwhelming....just felt pleh. And no spin whatsoever.

Blade mid is not easy...admittedly my skill level may not have done its justice, but I loved the Blade 98. So I was really disappointed when I bought a 2nd mid.

The latest big disappointment has been the Tecnfibre Dynacore TFight 305. Bad, just bad. The 305 has virtually no sweet spot, and the dead spot in the upper hoop feels like hitting a piece of metal with an aluminum bat.

Very similar feel to the Steam 96, only the Steam 96 didn't have the dead spot in the upper hoop and it had power and was fixable with weight at the handle. The 305 has no power and feels sluggish. Plus it does not have a trap door. If you want to put anything in the handle, you will have to take the entire butt cap off. I've tried tail weighting it to no avail, it feels worse.

I didn't like the Prokennex 5G at all. Felt like a piece of tin to me. I may lead it up this year and see what's what...
I felt the same way about the 5G. I was used to several Wilson 12.5 oz racquets with lots of plow through, buy the 5G had none. I have added some lead tape but still need a lot more. It is very easy on the arm, as advertised. Perhaps when it get it weighted right it will be fine. Anyone have any suggestions as to how much lead to use and where to place it? I have 2 grams on each side at 3 and 9 currently.

Head Pro Tour 630. I really hate to say it, I do. When I just rally, everything about this racquet is godly, but when I play points or a match, the racquet is so sluggish and hard to maneuver that i wind up shanking the first ball or the return. If I do somehow manage to get into the point by the luck of God, then it's the best racquet ever again.

Steam 99s. Was a demo racquet at my local club. Broke a string in 10 minutes, and I'm normally not a string breaker.

Edit: No wait, just remembered that I also demoed a Wilson Burn 100 from the same club. Super stiff and uncomfortable, didn't help that the grip was too small. Got wrist and arm pain, first time I've felt that, and that was within an hour of playing.

I would have to say the Spin Effect frames. I've tried the Steam 99S, Pro Staff 95S, Blade 98S, Six One 95S (*not bad but nothing special), and the Pro Staff 97S (*again, not too bad but nothing too special). It was extremely difficult for me to control the depth and placement using the spin frames. I thought more spin = more control for my aggressive play, but as it turned out, I lost confidence on my strokes and couldn't really go for the shots as I had intended.

I'll say blade 93. I had several coaches and players think it would be right up my alley and I couldn't stand the thing. I think a part of it was the demo string setup, but it was still torture.

I've come full-circle to disliking the XT Speed Pro. too stiff, too cumbersome, string pattern too tight. thankfully other ppl like them so i can recoup some of the cost ...
ive come full circle to disliking this one yet again. possibly the worst stick in my bag. dont like the 1st gen graphene model either.

Just as the title asks, what's been your most disappointing experience with a racquet, either purchased, demoed or merely used.

The Wilson Burn FST. Mind you, it is a good racquet in its' own right, but as a current Burn owner who loves the stick, the Burn FST is NOTHING like the current Burn series. The FST actually plays more like the Blade or even the Pro, so not sure about the logic of it.
