So which of the young ladies is going to step up next year?

Just wondering, which young female player 21 or under, is going to step up next year and either reach a grand slam final, win a grand slam, or become a consistent top ten player?

Sloane Stephens, gets a lot of press and she's talented, yet she still hasn't reached a WTA final which I find bizarre.
Eugenie Bouchard, Laura Robson have both reached their first WTA finals yet Stephens has not.

Is Sloane Stephens lazy? Stephens gives off the vibe she isn't giving 100% in some of her matches.

We've all been waiting for someone to REALLY challenge Serena but she honestly only has Azarenka to worry about on hardcourts and that's it.

The rest of the WTA is a joke, a 32 year old woman is hammering the competition.

I sure hope next year the young ladies DO NOT disappoint and STEP IT UP big time. We need more excitement in women's tennis next year.

Eugenie. she had some quality wins this year. I don't see her challenging the top three just yet but maybe she can get to the top 10.

long term, will she pull an ivanovic? ( get distracted and place tennis on a lower priority) say what you will about sharapova, at least she doesn't treat tennis as just the means to an end.

lol none of them. There's not even a single woman's player that plays as well as a top 50 men's player. I bet Stepanek could kick serena's *****.

Rubbish, who is more talented Serena or John Isner? But who would win? Don't know what this has to do with the OP anyway...

I believe Sania Mirza will step it up next year.

She has stepped into marriage, now she'll take the next step.

Who is saying that there is.. Any top 10 lady would be beaten 1 and 0 by the mens number 500+. Pretty stupid statement to make :p

At the box office? I don't think so.

That's why she gets paid and relatively, he doesn't.

that's why poor radek has to sell his body to rich tennis babes to survive:).

Obviously stephens is the farthest in developement of the 3 mentioned players. I believe she already has slam final potential and she works really hard (especially in the weight room as you can easily see with her).

robson has a ton of talent but there are rumors that she is a bit lazy and actually not that much into tennis (another "forced to play by parents" kid?)

bouchard is a talented player but pretty much "unproven" to date. she has to show she belongs before I consider her.

the other young girls like keys, duval, vekic are probably not ready yet.

I hope and think that Bouchard is going to continue her way up the rankings! She's a great shotmaker and a very complete player!
