Now that the uso is done is everyone ready for French? So many questions. Who will win? Will Djokovic be dqed? But as much as I try I can’t get into the French. I really don’t know why.

Red Clay tennis !!! Simply the best !!!

Beautiful venue in beautiful city, more top ranked players participating, fans in stands, new stadium roof ...

Definitely not Zed and Tim. Because there is no one to choke from at RG. There is a God made of Clay who is still pumped.

There will be All Time Great vs. All Time Great ... !!!

Or one of All Time Greats vs. Newcomers ...

Either way ... We will see great tennis !!!

Roland Garros and Wimbledon are the center of tennis greatness !!! US Open/Australian are secondary ...

Agree ... Nadal is going for it !!!

But as much as he wants it ... there are many guys that do not want him to get there ...

Honestly, I am more looking forward to French Open tha I was looking toward US OPEN ... First post "shut down" major, big guys skipping, nervous as hell (Djokovic outburst, Thiem/Zverev final ...)

Time to settle down to "new normal" ...

Play majors, compete, life goes on ...

A lot more than if Zverev won.

As pathetic as that was now it should loosen up Thiem knowing that he already has a Slam in the bag. I'm only slightly concerned about the fact that Thiem won't play any matches on clay until the FO itself. But on the other hand his name alone should get him through the first 3-4 rounds easily.

After his result before the USO, I didn't think Thiem would get to the quarters! He just looked bad, weak, and hopeless looking smashing rackets!

No, not really. I think Nadal will win again and I don't need to see the same guy winning for decades.
But I am looking forward to the random cool moments that will happen as always do at slams. But I won't be putting my life on hold to watch this.

It was good to watch tennis at the USO. Now I'm looking forward to Rome. And RG. (RG meaning Rafa the Great)

Would love to see Rafa win in Paris, but if he can't - I don't think it's a lock this year - I really want to watch good tennis.

I loved watching tennis before the big 3, and when they are gone, I'll still love watching good play.

Thiem lost in his very first match against an unseeded player in Cincinnati Masters, winning only 3 games. And then Thiem goes on to win the US Open. LOL
It's obvious that even the Fearsome Four are now focusing on the Slams as opposed to the Masters.

I would like to see Nadal stretched to the limit like in the FO matches against Djokovic in 2012-2013 - don’t care if he wins or loses, but would like to see him at his best against an opponent who can match his level over 5 sets on clay. Only Thiem, Djokovic or Wawrinka at their best might have a chance to make this happen on red clay in Paris.

I think the only chance an opponent has is to just have their best ever match and hope Nadal has an off day and try and redline in 4 sets or under. If it becomes a long, protracted battle, there's no way anyone can match Nadal's ability to sustain an impossibly high level without cracking.

If the conditions are rainy and the ball isn't jumping up, Nadal would have to work harder against the likes of Djokovic and Thiem.
If they play under the roof at night, that could actually be more competitive than in daytime sunny conditions where the ball is jumping up.

Who is going to stop or even pressure Rafa? Nobody, hence boring. Djokovic won't have much time to prep on Clay. Thiem is hurt and is sky high to be in the state to win FO. Fognini is Fognini.

Nah, not really. I'll only see it through highlights because the hours don't really fit in with my schedule that great. I'd be surprised if Nadal and Halep don't win given they've had more clay prep time and were already probably the favourites even without that advantage

If Nadal 2015 shows up then it will be a fun tournament. Nadal of 2017-2019? I'd say little to no chance for anyone. If someone like Zverev were to catch fire and meet Nadal in rainy conditions and no sun, that could be tough for Nadal. Who knows really? Maybe Zverev will be inspired after his US Open loss and be the darkhorse for RG?

Though I'm pumped for this year's Roland Garros, it's not my favorite slam. I almost voted 'yes'! Deceptive thread title/poll. :p
