Sock is with his older "America" Pure Aero VS?

I see him using old PA VS (USA), even if this racket already sold out.
What's wrong with new Banana paint job?

The custom specs on that one may be more to his liking. Obviously they're not using stock frames. Could be the weight is just right, the way the ball jumps off the strings for him work better here. Regardless of paint job.

Does he not basically use a stock aerostorm tour from like 2010? Thats what im swinging these days

"They" being the pros, and it's well known in here that pros use custom spec paint jobs.
You are talking blatant b.@u+lls*hit! Without even evidence.
Some pros have special racquets, others dont. Rafa played the first years of his career when he already won several grandslams with an ordinary of the shelf apd with only some lead and the cheapest poly Babolat had and would still play that way today if his uncle toni didnt convince him for some adaptions.

So why do you and other smart asses think all pros play very special gear that is made in labotoria by genial scientists?
Because you think why can they so play extraorinary while you cant?
Well because they have something you clearly dont and thats called TALENT! and you cant buy it even if you are a billionair!:-D:happydevil:

Given Sock's horrible ranking, its possible that Babolat pushed him down the new racquets list.

Other players (Kenin, I think) are still using their Flag PJ'S anyways.

Sock won the USO juniors with a Storm, and then switched to the AeroStorm shortly thereafter. Like how Prince copied WIlson and Head with it's 95's, and Wilson kinda copied Babo with it's burn/u100 and Dunlop kinda copied Head with it's 200g, Babolat kinda copied Yonex with it's AeroStorm. They squared off the head and went to a medium flex and added an Aero throat, which is much like the Yonex throats of old and new. But the grommets in the AS help up the spin, and it's low power allows folks like Sock to swing out. It is a rather unique stick in the Babo line up at the time, and few other sticks were like it. It's really a control stick, whereas the standard Aero is a spin stick. He doesn't weight it up much, and strings it between 36-40lbs most of the time with ALU or whatever that new yellow string he has in his recent pics. In my AS, a low tension stringbed got me insane spin and a much larger sweet spot, with good control. I still keep it because it plays very well, and I won an inter-club match with it. I use BBO as I can't produce the RHS to control ALU like Sock does(shocker).

Which Aero Storm do you use? GT or original (red one)?
I did try both and while original is much softer and plusher, GT has that zip on the ball, has bigger sweet spot and a little more spin friendly. GT is also crisper racket.
Now I am totally happy with Pure Aero VS (2017), Basically last iteration of Aero Storm mold. This, to me, beat both Aero Storms in every single department but comfort.
It is shame that Babolat decided to stop producing this Mold. It is indeed unique.

He plays with the same racquet: prvious pure aero vs or some aerostorm but with the 2020 usa flag. The "couple years ago" usa pure aero vs was much nicer. I own one, you can buy it for €1.000 if you want...

Original. Strung at lower tensions, and leaded at 6 and 9 just a bit, it's a very stable stick. Still low powered, good feel, great spin.

1. I can only join the question about "they"
2. What is supposed by "here"
3. Do you have any real life evidence, other than rumours of other posters like you?

there used to be as well "well known here" that "they" use some heavy sticks with incredible SW, but there is more and more evidence that not all pro players are using frames with SW in the 360 range, actually there is quite some evidence that the younger players use plenty of frames with specs close to what anyone can get in any regular retail, with SW in the 330 - 340 zone.

perhaps it is time to stop believing that pros get pro custom socks, shoes and frames that have a touch of unicorn powder and they are pros only because of this?

At what tension do you strung? Do you use BBO?
BBO crossed with ProsPro concept or Ichiban Spin at 45lbs on a lockout when I use it. I've injured my shoulder, knee, and arm the last few years, so been trying to use softer racquets still. I'm swinging a Clash most days strung with TourBite crossed with Blast.
While this is a good racquet, I feel I have to say it has to be leaded up to reach it's potential, and strung loosely to be stable if you don't want much over all weight. But the spin is on par with my NXG's and better than my Clash. I keep it in my bag as a souvenir because I won a tournament with it a few years back.

The flag editions were supposed to coincide with the lead-up to the 2020 Olympics, but you know...Coronavirus happened. Benoit Paire and Taro Daniel are also still playing with the France and Japan editions, respectively. To be honest, the pros can play with whatever PJ they want. Sabalenka and Bertens used the Blade Zebra PJ's for the longest time, even though they sold out like 2 years ago.

Where did he say or imply we average Joe can't play well because we don't have special gear that pros have? Now who is being smart ass?

I did not. I love previous Pure Aero VS too much, and its mold in general, that is enough to not even try new one. Thick beam does not make me wanting to demo it.
No disrespect but all this time you have been calling 2020 PAVS a crappy racquet, you haven't even tried it? I remember multiple posts from you claiming new PAVS "had no feel, no stability, tiny sweetspot" and that it "feels like a toy". Also it "doesn't flatten out balls" etc etc. You haven't even done a demo and yet you made those comments out of thin air?

Thanks for the Info and good comparison. I find new PAVS to not be able to flat out the shot. It needs consistent spin just like APD/PA. Old PAVS as well as Aero Storm can both.
New PAVS is a cheap pricey toy in comparison. No feel, no stability, tiny sweetspot.
Original PAVS feels much more solid and stable than new one. The box beam feel of original PAVS is sublime and has nothing in common with typical babolar feel that new PAVS owns.

I remember things well, and honestly wasn't that hard because you were posting about this everywhere. It only goes to show that you actually don't know what you are talking about then. Has to be pretty embarrassing for you right now.
Not at all :)

So. If you as an ordinary joe can indeed play wellwithout special gear and without soecial talent why would ATP players with 100 times as much talent need special gear? they dont evidently.

I dont agree! I own both Aero storm as different Yonex models. The thoaths of the Yonexes arent similar to the aerodynamic Aero throat. Also the heads of Yonexes are not similar to Aerostorm. Anyone knows this even if they dont own any of the racquets. Aerosorms have closed stringpattern like the normal Pure sTorm or Pure control 16x20 on 98inch.

To make it short - some friends of mine extensively tested new PAVS and say (all of them) what you quoted. Also they compared old and new PAVS.
I am not testing every second racket on the market. May be you guys enjoy testing, I am more focused on improving my tennis instead.

So you simply like to lie through your teeth here and argue without testing yourself, and then suggest later on that it was your "friends" not you who played with the racquet when you are caught about your lies? How convenient. Learn to own up to your mistakes and stop this immature behavior if you want to be taken seriously.

Oh and go check out the playtest thread and the PAVS thread. An overwhelming majority disagree with your take. Just because you own and play with 2016/2017 PAVS it is clear you want to diss on other generations. I find that behavior extremely childish.
