Socking news: Wilson Line 2019

As you all know Burn line is discontinued and the new line will be Wilson Clash. Clash will come in 98,103 and 100inch versions....9 clash models in total. Pro staff will continue the same with just new paint jobs like Ultra line.

The socking news come from blade line. They are thinking to terminate the line from May of 2019. Maybe my source was misinformed......I can’t believe such news.

Doesn't matter. The Burn 95 has been transferred to the Ultra line and the Ultra line is now a bunch of very different frames. Ultra Tour in a line with a slogan "I am powerful". Give me a break.

Burn is staying but in pre strung spin effect models only. They will be black with orange (which is old news since they are available now on TW).

The final retail paintjob for the Clash will have similarities to the Burn. And it doesn't look that great IMHO.
Maybe Wilson will go the Babolat route and change to have the prototype paintjob as the retail version, if theres enough hype around it.

What? Better it looked like the burn than what it does now. This paint job is no even close to the nice looking P17.

Price for the clash, at least the 100 square inch models is 250. The paintjob isn't any different than Wilson's other offerings at that price.

That's the point. Let's assume we can clearly specify for what type of a game a racquet is for.
First of the Ultra line. Ultra 100 models and Burn 100 models are basically the same so saying that one is for all-court play while the other is for baseline is funny. Secondly how does the Ultra Tour model fit into this? It doesn't.
And finally since Wilson can just move models around - Steam 99 to Blade line-up and Burn 95 to the Ultra line-up I fail to understand why would someone be curious what's Wilsons game type label on these racquets...

That is terrible news if they get rid of the Blade lineup. The Blade is Wilson's second best racquet behind the Pro Staff. Why do you want to replace it with the Clash?

I can't find it now, but I remember someone asked Wilson's Instagram if the Clash would replace the Blades, and Wilson commented "wouldn't dream of it," or something. I don't think the Blades will be phased out.

Sad but good point. Wilson can throw whatever paint on whatever mold to truck customers. Wonder if Goffin and Raonic would sport clash or ultra paint haha.

I’ve noticed some lower level players moving H22s from burn paint to blade paint, wonder what’s next if blade goes away.

Burn range is not being discontinued!
There will be 4 models in the new Clash range.
Blade and Ultra’s staying exactly the same, actually new frames will be added to the Blade range and the Pro Staff reducing to three frames...

but also the sixones, where dropped arround the time when the talk of the 85" - 95" were outdated head sizes that no one wanted to use "anymore",,,,
the 95" rakets are making a slight comeback due to player demand,,

Really? Does that include the classic 6.1/hyper 6.1/k6.1 models as well? Or just the ‘Six.One’ versions? It seemed in the 2000s every one was using those models (me included).

Right, sorry I meant the ones in recent years. IIRC the 16x18 versions sold much better than the 18x20 and the last Six.One which was close to the top was the BLX though the sale results were noticeably worse in comparison to the [K]Factor.
I don't have any contact with the source I'm quoting now and I have no proof he is right but I remember him reminiscing that the [K]Factor line was the last line which sold great and it started to go down hill in terms of sales since then.

Rumours and fake news will pop up every now and then... heck, one of the guys I know got info from a Wilson rep there will be no more Blades... and it was years ago. I think it turned out the guy meant no new Blades, as in no updates at that particular time.

I think the 2015 Blade has the best balance between comfort, control, power, and feel among all the Blades ever made. I really wasn't surprised that the CV Blade couldn't beat the 2015 Blade.

If they are not coming out with another new Blade, that will save me some money not having to buy a new one to see if it can actually beat the 2015 model.
