Socks of PROs

I heard PROs don't use ordinary socks we see in retail. Their socks are custom painted by manufacturers and have special anty-smell ingredient inside. If they have heel-heavy balance then they were deigned for hard court-players to let them to fly and dance over court on toes. Conversely if they have toe-light balance then they are for clay coart players to slide and creep on the court.

Do you mean that they use lead tape also for socks ? Definitely. I heard that some of PROs used it for changing inaccurate balance of Nike socks.

However using of paintjobs for socks' lead tape is prohibited by ITF Tennis Rules 2004 ( Section 102, (u), Appendix 61).

Ha! Finally, the world now knows that Federer is copying ME by wearing WalMart socks (because, as you know, nobody except me actually wears socks from WalMart, right?)

What about shoe laces? I personally use natural gut at the core of my shoe laces because I hate losing tension in my shoe laces halfway through a match.

U know natural gut is very sensitive to humidity. During match your foot becomes wet and gut lasts short, so u 'll need change shoes 4-5 times per match.

In order not to do this there are special tablets preserving from extra moisture which you'd put inside shoes or special wax with which you must lubricate socks before use. But be extremely careful. Patience and again patience in operations with gut!!!

you guys are all wrong. PROs socks are made of natural gut, with a white paintjob. if you look closely, you can see the mains and crosses.

actually that is something i want to ask about the socks of the pro. What do they put over it? Player like Andy Roddick and hewitt seem to have some kind of tape over the sock that is suppose to provent them from rolling over their ankle or something. What is that thing called?
