Soderling tried to cheat AGAIN and FO crowd sucks

This guy should be fined. I´ve seen him pointing at wrong ball marks on purpose several times and i don´t see him play often. He´s just done it against Nadal. Funny enough, the crowd booed Nadal more when Nadal called out a ball mark which was actually out. The FO crowd and Soderling are the worst things in tennis.

It doesn't matter what Soderling does, whatever the umpire decides is final. End of thread.

I hold no special regard for Soderling, but have great respect for the French fans. During a Sharapova match on the weekend, they repeatedly booed her when she would fist-pump after an unforced error by her opponent. I was really impressed that they would consider celebrating someone else's mistake to be worthy of a jeer, and came away from it thinking they're the most civilized tennis fans I've encountered.

so you decide on this thread right? ROTFL

Tammo is right the chair makes the decision, Solderling's efforts to dissuade the chair are futile and make no difference.

And FTR I see dozens of players routinely point to the wrong ball mark. I don't consider them cheaters either as they usually genuinely believe what they are pointing to is the ball mark and happen to be wrong.

Trying to dissuade the chair is not always futile. I was watching a match about 20 years ago, don't recall who was playing, when the server hit a first serve down the tee that was called out. The receiver, apparentlly a very decent fellow, clearly felt the serve was good, and proceeded to walk to the other end of the baseline as if the serve were called good. The chair did not dispute this action, awarded the point to the server, and play continued.

you could say the same thing about Nadal taking an average of 27 secs in between points. Both of them are stupid sometimes

Were you right at the edge of the court, there at RG?
TV is not right without Hawkeye.
If not, you're talking garbage.

It's hard to continuously overlook Soderling with the wrong ball marks. It happens way too often. Wonder why he isn't considered a cheater, but a stand up guy, lol.

The French crowd hasn't been too bad so far. They were actually calling Rafa's name for much of the match (until Soderling appeared to be getting into the match, which is quite normal, they do this to everyone).

What was odd was the commentators trying to persuade viewers that they were rooting against Rafa. But I believe my ears, and I know the F sound when I hear one. R F and I didn't hear a N anywhere.

You have to ignore those biased, unfair commentators. They have (financial) interests in many of the players they root for.

Godsick-agent or manager for Roger and Maria
Cahill-compatriot of Sammy Stosur (which is the only reason why she gets any hype at all).

Total conflict of interests. They should all be banned imo.

Soderling tried to cheat AGAIN

Where has all the love from Feddie fans to the King gone, post FO 2010?! LOL!

I'm very very disappointed that there isn't one Feddie fan here to defend the King!

:)

It's a known fact that the French crowd are a bunch of low class freaks. I think the only worse crowd is Shanghai and that's only because they aren't used to professional matches and don't know the etiquette.

lets not talk about crowd behaviour. No matter what court and what country it is, there is always something that can be pointed at crowd behaviour.

Unfortunately there isnt much that can be done and crowd could be a pain to deal with.

I suggest everyone simply get over it.

There's nothing to get over, really. It's just ironic how much we have to hear about Nadal being such a cheater for his pre-service ritual, but when someone constantly picks out wrong marks, not one word is said about him.

During the match I can't count how many times McEnroe(s) and crew mentioned Nadal's "tactics" but I never hear them say jack about Maria's or anyone else's.

I find it amazing that people don't see that.

How do you know he does it in every match? Maybe he does it mostly against Nadal :) I didn't see him do that too much in his previous matches.
Don't complain.Your boy's a bigger cheater.

Soderling is a d0uchebag and the French are uncivilized racist pigs. Nothing new.

Not that I don't agree, but in this situation, the crowd booed Nadal because they thought he stopped play because it looked like Soderling would win the point, and they thought that he thought if he stopped play and got the call wrong they would replay the point. In the end they applauded him because he got the call right and they finally understood. Confusing I know, the French just don't now the rules of tennis.

I don't know if they are or aren't knowledgeable but they sure are major ******bags booing nearly every player that wants to check a ball mark ON THE ONLY SURFACE WHERE YOU CAN DO SO.

Why the heck don't other crowds as CC events do this? Maybe because they aren't as fussy as the parisian crowd?

Who knows? Half the time they don't even know what their booing at. Sometimes they even boo players when they break a string and go to get a new racket...

Yes, but Soderling is cool and fun. Nadal is arrogant and cries and screams when a ball the umpire calls out is apparently wrong. Also the crowds at the FO are tools. You're right on that one.

Soderling should henceforth play with his eyes closed. If he as much as LOOKS at a ball mark, that's cheating !!!

You could say exactly the same for Nadal taking way too much time between serves. Söderling even pointed it out to the umpire in the end.

I also think that's why Söderling makes attempts to point at the wrong ball mark. Or he's a bit bad at pointing those out, could be that too.

Great post...bro..I am impressed..

down boy... down...

The majority in Paris have no clue about tennis. They are there to be seen and look pretty.

We should be grateful that the French can never get any far. The scenes would be horrific in terms of a partisian crowd. Cheering for a double fault etc.

If he takes too much time it's the umpire that needs to give him a penalty, it happens ocassionaly. Since he did not get a penalty versus Soderling we have to assume he used as much time as he's allowed to. Completely within the rules.

you are such a great "poaster"...

I know,right?
Fed is so arrogant.

yeah... and boring. nothing like humble and down to hearth Rafa.

so i heard Kate Middlton wants to be in the Royal family representant to the SW19 final... i bet she wants to sneak at Rafa's sugar lumps... but shakira wont let that happen...

relax guys. most of the GS crowds these days are package tourists.

of the french i have come across, most are good natured and knowledgeable about the sport.

I know. It's funny how everything he did was just glossed over, and then he's the one talking about others. That's rich!
