Soft Co-Polys?

What are some of the softer co-polys available? I'm trying to soften up my Pure Drive, but don't want to go full multifilament. Looking for a more arm-friendly co-poly for the mains (17g) to match with a multi in the crosses (17g). I generally string the mains at 45 lbs. and the crosses at 50 lbs.

I haven't written my full review of the Volkl V-Torque on the play test page here, but I would for sure recommend this string.

If I may..........

is Alu Power a co poly or full? Been using it but still not sure

Don't think that there are many solely poly strings around anymore. I can only think of Gosen Polylon as an example. Most poly strings today are co-poly meaning they are poly material with certain additives. The "Alu" in Lux strings stands for Aluminum which is added to the mix to improve performance.

According to the USRSA string tests, the softest co-poly string are:
Babolat Pro Hurricane 18 = 187 stiffness
Babolat Pro Hurricane 17 = 226 stiffness
Kirschbaum PLII 115 = 224 stiffness
Kirschbaum PLII 120 = 229 stiffness
Luxilon Alu Pwr Flouro 123 = 226 stiffness
Yonex Poly Tour Pro 125 16L = 216 stiffness

Dunlop Black Widow plays well at 55lbs or higher in that racket. It does not get much softer with a poly either, even at higher tensions.

my Big Hitter Blue Rough 17 guage feels pretty soft to me ... i've heard that the 16 guage has a different feel to it though.

from what i've tried : polystar energy, head sonic pro, babolat hirricane feel, poly fibre rapid, signum pro poly plasma

Have you thought about going full poly at 45lbs?

What about Polyfibre TCS and Weiss Cannon Turbo Twist?

Yeah I was going to say TT but it's rated at 236 I think. It does feel like one of the softest I tried so either it's my imagination or it's got awesome tension maintenance.
Excellent string, must try it again!

WC Silverstring feels fairly soft to me, but I haven't tried many co-polys, so take that with a grain of salt. I am also using it with OG Sheep Micro crosses now.

MSV Focus Hex Soft.

I haven't used it personally, but I have put it in people's racquets who have had arm problems with polys in the past. It's been over 3 months with no complaints.

Have any of your customers tried Solinco Tour Bite Soft yet?

Here ya go.........

What about Polyfibre TCS and Weiss Cannon Turbo Twist?

Polyfibre TCS 120 = 230 stiffness
Polyfibre TCS 125 = 234 stiffness
Polyfibre TCS 130 = 246 stiffness

No data on Weiss Cannon string in the USRSA db that I could find. We tested Weiss Cannon Turbo Twist 1.18 here using the USRSA method and got a SI of 242. Hope this helps.

Test out B5E please. :)

Sorry.........

Test out B5E please. :)

Sorry Mikeler, dont have any B5E to test here. All we have left of the WC line is Silverstring and Turbo Twist. Let me check around and see if any of the other testers have any data.

Hi,

I did my review.. I did not find it to be very soft. Played firm and crisp...

IsoSpeed Baseline Spin 17L is very easy on the arm and wallet..:-)

I have not written mine up yet (on Volkl V-Torque), but I agree with SteveI. I found it to be firmer with good feel. I strung it up after a set of Iontec Black 1.20. That was soft.

I like to use Genesis Hexonic in the 1.09 . It's a very thin poly great for spin and I find it very comfortable .
