Soft, low powered strings

Just bought myself a couple of diablo mids. Great racquet..very stable in stock form, huge sweet spot compared to what I'm used to (nxg mid, ps 6.0 85).

I was using sppp with my old nxg mid and liked that combo. I've tried the diablo with sppp and head rip control 17 and both are ok but I think the diablo would do better with a softer string.

As the diablo is pretty powerful I need a very low powered string. Something with good tension maintenance if a durable string, not so important if string is not that durable. I just bought a silent partner swing so I don't mind restringing often.

So either:
SOFT, DURABLE, GOOD TENSION MAINTENANCE, LOW POWERED

OR

SOFT, LOW POWERED AND AVERAGE DURABILITY

Any suggestions?

Soft and low powered, hummm. There are some soft and medium powered strings out there, but low powered is going to be difficult.

While reading your post the package of Tecnifibre X R3 was coming clearer and clearer to my mind.

It is the new version of TrC that Valjean has already suggested and I agree to him.

I've never tryed the TrC (here in europe TF don't sell it any more) but X R3 is supposed to be a little softer and definitely low powered for a multi.

I like that string very much even if I'm not so sure it can assure more than an avarage durability especially if you impart some spin.

Wilson Reaction seems to be another good choice.

Hope this helps.

Rip Control 17 is fairly soft and low powered for a multi. You have to find the right tension though. My next choice would be Yonex 850 Pro or Head FXP. I've heard TRC is good as well, but I've not had any good luck with TF multi's. They all seem somewhat tension challenged and over powered to me. Oh, I forgot a couple of really nice ones. Babolat Powergy is great at the right tension. Plenty of control and soft and easy on the arm. Also, Klipper Zyex is very nice, but also tension sensitive like Powergy. String it too low and it's a slingshot.

Just raising the tension by 5 pounds or so could work. I really don't know of any low powered multis, but stringing a medium powered one high could work.
