soft poly setup at low tention

So which full bed poly setup will be the most comfortable and the softest in my blade 98/tfight 300 iso

tension 18kg / 40 lbs

Hyper G Soft 1.25
Poly Tour Pro yellow 1.25
MSV Swift 1.25
Poly Tour Rev 1.25

Most to least comfortable @ 18kg / 40lbs: Swift roughly equal to (maybe ever-so-slightly more comfortable than) Rev, then HGS perhaps every-so-slightly more comfy than PTP when new, but definitely as the string bed ages.

Here's the RacketPedia data (and yes, for the pundits, I realize a bunch of charts, graphs and isolated lab numbers don't necessarily reflect real life, but it's still a decent indicator of what to expect):

Purple rev the best color rev?

Hard to say what is best. I had played with all 3 colors and what I can tell is white is most def the softest and least lively out of all.

Orange and purple more livlier and tad bit stiffer but still comfortable and muted.

So maybe you can

Can you recommend maybe some other polys that are even softer than Swift or PTRev?

Holy ****. Thanks dude.

I assume racketpedia isn't free to everyone like twu string comparison tool?
Very welcome, and correct, it's a yearly subscription. Not too spendy, though, and pretty good database that, while sometimes not entirely representative of real life, still gives pretty decent indications of playability (so I've found, anyways).

Sure thing:
- IsoSpeed Cream (ever-so-slightly softer, to me anyways -- some people say they're identical)
- MSV Focus Hex +38 (moderately softer)
- Yonex Poly Tour Air (noticeably softer)

Swift is softer then +38.... I have +38 mains/ swift hybrid in my aero 98 and ezone98 right now

I should have stipulated, +38 in its narrowest gauge of 1.15. Although Swift may be a tad softer still, and definitely so, gauge per gauge.

Here you go. I threw Cream 1.28 in there as well. (Click on each to zoom in):

Interesting that at least based on the lab numbers, FH +38 1.15 feels softer in the hand than Swift 1.25, but more firm once strung in the racquet.

I use1.25 in both...+38 is actually 1.32 from edge to edge and 1.25mm from flat to flat.. I hand prestretch and swift also stretches more...I also have 1.20mm +38 and is also .07mm wider edge to edge and is firmer then swift in hand and on racket. I use black +38 cause it plays better then white...
I like 1.25mm +38 cause it is same thickness after install cause it shrinks a little once on racket...
Amazingly SWIFT is still 1.25mm after strung on racket...
Worst poly shrinkage after being strung is poly tour pro cause it shrinks almost 1 gauge from 1.25mm to 1.21mm..

@maksp - Very interesting stuff on stretching!
I learned from federer stringer to tie one end of string to door handle and pull other end...I pull using starting clamp or pliers and hold at constant pressure for 30 seconds... it's enough to straiten any string .. I tested and I pull at 40pounds

isospeed cream unfortunately isn't available in my country... weird and it's only this string from IsoSpeed

MSV Swift it is then

Is there a chart on yellow ptp, evolution , bussard, swift white all in 1.25mm? These are my round cross strings ..

swift is slickest n softest,then bussard,evolution, ptp
Power is toss-up between bussard n evolution

Control is bussard

Feel is ptp

Some rackets I need power I use bussard or evolution which ever on hand
Some rackets I need soft so swift it is

FYI - To all that are interested in RacketPedia data, I'm happy to share a few graphs, but I really suggest finding the several cups of coffee worth of funds to pay for a subscription and get direct access for yourselves. (y)

I did that last year and highly reccomend Racketpedia. There is a good string finder function too.

However I am missing some strings and gauges. Ghostwire and other strings from former T1.
