Solinco Hyper G in a wilson blade v8 16x19

What are your guy's thoughts on hyper G in a blade v8 16x19? My personal experience is that it doesn't play well in the blade because it feels too soft for it. I use solinco confidential 1.25 now and used to use hyper g 1.25 in a 2019 radical mp with lead tape. I can't seem to be able to hit with hyper g in a blade v8 though but I can in the v7. What are your guy's thoughts on it?

Try Tour bite.

I have used it for awhile it was the string I used before confidential and after hyper g when I went to the blade.
It’s a stiffer string and confidential is in the middle. I’ve had multiple version of the blade and honestly not a fan. The H22 and Pro versions are great. The stock is not great.

Yeah, I would like to try to H22 but not quite sure that I want to up the swingweight yet maybe ill use it in the near future.

Unless it is customized, the swing weight is actually very manageable. The one I have was used by a lower level pro and its only 335 and a swing weight of 319. Plush. The Blade pro I have is a little more head heavy, but not much. They are meant to be customized to your specifications. But, they play nothing like a blade off the shelf.

IMO its because the Blade v7 is much more of a "blade" than v8. I know a few tour bite v8 users, but only 1.15 or 1.2 gauge. 1.25 TB feels REALLY weird and I don't like 1.3 strings so I haven't tried it.

I loved tour bite in the v8 the stiffness worked great in the softer v8. 1.25

I have hyper g soft 17 gauge in blade v5 v6 v7 h22 and v7/v8 blade pros. All 18m. Since blades all have higher swingweights I feel like the shaped poly helps with spinny serves and being able to hit flip angles on the run or in a defensive position.

I’ve also had good luck with alu in 17 gauge in these frames. All strung between 40-45. Alu, when fresh has a softer feel imo than even the hyper g soft and I get more pop from alu. I find alu better on volleys.

I have Element in my v8 but I just got a v6 and decided to put Alu Rough in it. Will update with the results but I’m hoping the frame is complementary.

Okay, so I played tonight with the v6 and it was really nice with the Alu Rough. Can definitely feel the crispness vs Element and spin was on tap when I asked for it. I strung it at 48 and I thought that would give me enough depth, but the string is a little dead in terms of power so I wouldn’t say it’s the best choice if depth and power is what you’re looking for. But the control is great, the feel is really connected and comfortable, and now I just hope it’s as durable as other Lux strings.

I put 18g(1.15) hyperg in my v8 18m and 17g(1.20) in my 16m and they both play very good(spin/comfort). the 18g is really nice in 18m with its closed pattern. I also put 17g in my 16m blade pro. durability may be an issue for some but I string my own and usually cut it out before that happens anyway. I am tempted to try the 18g in the 16m for kicks. TW just had a black friday deal of buy2 get 1 free so I stocked up as $9/set is a good price and just as good if buying reel.

Let me know how this goes if you do this. I’m starting to think the thinner the better for this racket, and I’m not a string breaker (for poly at least; I’ve broken multis) so I’m wondering if I can go thinner than 17g. 18 might be really nice for a bit more power and spin.
