Solinco Strings

This confidential 2.0 string looks more pentagonal but it could be square ?? not sure. but all I do know is that it grabs the ball like crazy even more than hyperG or tourbite.
That would be a string that I would be **very** interested in!

And my original reason for saying Hyper-G rather than Tour Bite string shape is because I found Tour bite to get round on me as it wore, whereas I thought Hyper-G retained its square shape and 90 degree edges better, maybe because as the edge wears down, the flat surface contacting the ball also wears down and kind of re-sharpens that edge.

Hyper-G notched more for me than Tour Bite and did not last as long, but I preferred the slightly higher power level and better spin capability even though I had to restring more often.

Ok, about 11 th hour of hitting today over last 2 weeks time. I finally broke the string. Extremely surprising.... this Poly actually performed pretty well even after 11 hours of hitting. Still with good power and massive spin. It was notching around 9th hour so I knew it was about to break. It has very odd properties, it is very lively with good pop and yet it doesnt' hurt your arm like some of those other live Polyesters like Luxilon strings. This poly enables me to hit shots that I normally would be hesitant to go for because I am afraid it might sail long. but with this string, I can just rip at the ball and I know it has very good chance of going in due to Massive RPM it can generate. During the doubles match with my USTA team-mates, I was going for some shots that I normally may sail long but today they were all falling in.

Several months ago, I took as close of a look at Tour Bite as I could with my 58 year old eyes and thought it was not square. Subsequently, someone posted in a thread saying the product description said it was square. Then, someone cut some sections of Tour Bite and showed it to be pentagonal, in this post:

Whether it is square or not, I don't know - I'm going on what was shown in that post. If it is square, it doesn't have the same sharpness to the edges as Hyper-G. It does not, for me, have the same bite on the ball as Hyper-G provides. I've used several different gauges of Tour Bite this last year, along with at least the 1.30 and 1.20 gauges of Hyper-G.
I don't know what those pictures are of, or how the angles were achieved to make it appear pentagonal. Go to the TW string shopping section and read the product descriptions. Both clearly say square. It's the difference in the chemical properties of the string that makes them feel and play different, not the shape.

I agree with this completely. they both look very similar in shape (not sure if they really same shape however ) but they play so incredibly different. I was schocked how much more RPM and spin I was able to generate with new confidential 2.0. and it isn't just spin either, if you have no control, spin is useless. but I was also getting very nice control just so long as I timed the ball reasonably well.
when I first tried the new confidential, I was just expecting another Me Too poly. maybe little more power or control than tourbite. but WOW, I was surprised how different this new string was

not a fan of 2.0. Too mushy and muted. cut it out three xs after 3/4 hours. Wasn't for me.
LOL, how is this possible ?? my experience has been just opposite. Straight off the stringing machine, it has this Ping sound and string bed feels very lively. and when you first start to hit the ball, it is very powerful. and as the string settles into the bed, it becomes even more powerful and more spinny.
You need to give this poly about 2 hours of hitting. Within that time frame , you will start to see the full potential and deadly explosive topspin this string bed can produce

I tried it on three separate occasions on two different rackets. I still have 3 sets. not for me. I will stick to tourbite. i like my strings crisp. no dampener

No surprise. I prefer Tourbite as well. I've tried playing confidential and hyperG but I keep going back to Tourbite. The ball moves the same off each string for me and I prefer the feel of Tourbite.

I do a similar layup with hyper g vs RS Lyon and it's amazing.

I like Hyper-G quite a bit... what do you like about the hybrid? hyper-g is a spin monster and very good control.. the only thing that it can use a bit more is power... I used rs lyon 1.25 a while back.. it was good control crisp feeling string.. wasn't particularly powerful either... how do you think these 2 strings complement each other? i am tempted to hybrid these 2.. but i would imagine hyper-g or rs lyon could use a string that has a bit more pop?

It felt very cushy for a poly with no loss of spin potential for me and a big of extra power. Hard to explain other than it was like I have the benefits of poly without a ton of the downside. I've been a stringiholic and always kept moving around setups but have string this combo 3x in a row now because I seriously just don't want to give it up.

there’s a couple new ones. Several of my Hyper G users have now moved to Hyper G Soft. The other blue string used to be LB-1 but my recent sets of it have now been labeled Confidential 3.
Who are these "Several of my players ?" Hyper G soft hasn't come out yet. not sure when the release date is. Confidential 2.0 is supposed to be January in Europe. but I have no idea when Hyper G soft release date is.. Are those sponsored Junior players or ATP professional player who already has access to these new polys ?

Try a full bed, Max power is meh. I play a full bed of 18 hyper G in my ezone 98 it's awesome. String it around 45.
With all respect but qualifications like meh or awesome dont tell us anything about the strings you tested. It sounds more like a bad commercial.
