Great achievements. I get it is about Rafa catching Fed in the slams right now, but it is nice to see that some still can respect other players achievements too. Great ride, just glad he is still able to compete at the highest of levels.

I get we all root for our guy. But the Big 3 have shown they are beyond anything we have ever seen before, they are truly on a league of their own. We can debate (and likely will) why that is the case for years but they have shown levels of consistency no one else ever did in the Open Era.

There’s no doubt in my mind Federer is one of the, if not the most naturally gifted tennis player in the history of the sport. He broke and established all kinds of records.

At this point I find GOAT debates useless (there is no such thing) even if sometimes fun. All of them have great records and that won’t change if one beats the others in slams won or any other metric.

This is why there will never be a definitive GOAT. Every player at this level has their fair share of insane records that make their careers so uniquely extraordinary.

. . cool math bro
. . : )

. .but should nadal hit the '20' mark, do you really think the octoberina10's of the board are going to wait until rafa bags e.g. the 2021 French and owns a 21-20 edge over Fed?

Me thinks not because for them the shoe will now be on the other foot; payback time for all of those "Grand Slam # of titles bitter pills" Fedfans shoved down their throats over the years.....or like the old saying: "bottom rail on top" https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bottom rail on top

Octobrina's work in mysterious ways...

But anyhoo, payback shmayback - No. titles and weeks at no.1 would still need some serious catchup to warrant discussion even for the purists who insist # slams is the be all and end all, whether as an attack or retaliation..

Feel bad how much this is killed by Novak now in hindsight.

1. Novak working on doing the 4 Semis a 6th time
2. Novak working on doing in 3 times tying Fed
3. A myriad of incredible Slam streaks by Novak like 15 consecutive tiebreaks won in Slams
4. Novak working on a 4th three Slam season.

But the current run that Novak is on that's nudging Fed's best streaks is 10 Finals of last 11 completed (the 2020 USO DQ would make 10 of 12 participated which is still extreme).

Djokovic is just recently tied Fed's total Slam Semi count.

Other considerations being 13 seasons winning a Slam, 7 seasons winning multiple Slams, leading currently in Slams won in 2 decades (never happened in men's game).
