When the food and drink and movies come Lew will settle down.
My family don’t open the presents until later after dinner lol.He should be playing with his new presents lol
So you do admit that you're a troll. Good to know. And you're here answering a troll.
Roger’s opening words in pre-match interview so telling...
I can't decide which one was the better match.
Fedal Masters Cup 2006 and Masters Cup 2007 semifinals. Fed and Nadal both played well in the first and the second is one of Fed’s finest performances at the YEC. IMO an even better performance than the famous 2011 match but that’s up to debate.
Oh, and they were also against the second-best player in the world. ^^^
Last 2 vids were against Agassi and Roddick... 2 next best HC players after FedPerformances against top3 in the world are quite rare in this thread.
It’s not worth discussing peak Fed with Lew. He’s of the type who believes Fed peaked in 2015.@Lew II
I am not a Federer Fan but
Rome 2006,Hamburg 2007, WTF 2006-07 against Nadal.
Come to mind.
Didn't the guy won the YEC unbeaten 4-5 times ? Surely that alone shows his caliber against top ranks.
Then the multiple drubbings Roddick got during Wimbledon 2004-05(He was the second seed wasn't he?)
Hewitt was also 3rd seed at 2005 WB , 4th seed in USO 2004.
Juan Carlos Ferrero was 3rd in AO 2004 SF .
Federer also went through Nadal Murray and Djokovic in 2010 WTF.
And that's just top of my head.
I don't have much love for the guy but apparently, I can defend him better than his fans.

He was good, but he wasn’t at his very best. Lew’s viewpoint on Fed’s peak goes hand-in-hand with his viewpoint that Djokovic is better than Federer.2015 Federer was brilliant though.
Limited and somewhat lesser but still great. However when it comes to the very best fine margins mean a lot. I believe Federer of old would have held much better with 2015 Novak.
But is he better by a lot ?
Every one will have different viewpoints.

I’m not arguing who the better player is. I’m just pointing out that that debate is central to Lew’s perspective. Nearly every statistic he posts is directly related to Djokovic being “better” than Federer. For example, Djokovic was at his peak in 2015 so it makes sense for him to shift Federer’s peak to 2015 in order to claim that peak Djokovic was 5-3 against peak Federer. That’s what I mean.Who is to say he isn't ?
Personally I believe they are somewhat of equals.
Rafa is lesser of the three in abilities but more than makes up in fighting spirit and relentlessness
I love how comically removed 2015 is too. Like, nearly a decade. Good relative form notwithstanding.I’m not arguing who the better player is. Insane level. I think even this Roddick beats today’s Fed. As for that Fed, he beats anyone todayOne of Fed's best grass matches.
Andy was even better the next year!Insane level. I think even this Roddick beats today’s Fed. As for that Fed, he beats anyone today
Never saw this match before.
I heard he played for few years without one.Fed always with the uncanny ability to ignore the open court and hit directly at his opponent, making his life 2x more difficult.
Fed's greatness may have been a result of his free flow style in his peak years, but I swear he also could have used a coach and an actual gameplan at times.
In 2004 and a bit of 2005 IIRC.I heard he played for few years without one.

I thought it was longer until 2008....In 2004 and a bit of 2005 IIRC.
I remember Roche being in his camp at the 2006 AO and he remained alongside Roger for the rest of the year.I think they split in 2007.He had Tony Roche from the AO 2005 IIRC, all of 2004 he was coachless I think. Can't remember about 2006/2007.
No, only in 2004, then he hired Roche in 2005.I thought it was longer until 2008....
Yes, I think Rome 2007 was his last tournament with Roche. He was in maybe the only small crisis during those years when he didn’t win a tournament in 4 tries.I remember Roche being in his camp at the 2006 AO and he remained alongside Roger for the rest of the year.I think they split in 2007.
In that case he was without a coach again until Severin joined the camp in 2008.Yes, I think Rome 2007 was his last tournament with Roche. He was in maybe the only small crisis during those years when he didn’t win a tournament in 4 tries.
The lowest point was the loss to Volandri in Rome, but Federer later said he already intended to split with Roche before. The problem was that he respected him as a person so much that he didn’t know how to say it to him, and that affected his performance on the court.
After the split he won the next tournament in Hamburg where he beat Nadal for the first time on clay.
Wow, a TT prediction that came true. What is this, opposite day?Inb4 that new user hijacks the thread with some of his usual bile.
Welp, they're a 'Rookie' now, which might explain all the mistakes...Inb4 that new user hijacks the thread with some of his usual bile.
Dubai 2010 was better than both. His form was so strong he was arrogant enough to skip the tournament because he said, and I quote: "I would just roflstomp these fools so I'd best sit this one out to allow for some uncertainty". He then lost to one of his 0.5 year old daughters after holding double match point in an exhibition match whilst trying his hardest.
the best ever Fed on hc’s. AO2020 version comes close.
