Looks like a fun match. Serve has more pop than previous videos I have viewed. Good job.
i love that @tlm actually cares about not foot faulting...
even at 4.5 alot of folks foot fault consistently.
to me a minor detail that speaks volumes about the quality of practice you strive for.

Ya I try not to foot fault often. If I knew how to serve correctly I wouldn’t have to step back from the line but because I can’t seem to correct that forward step I take.

i corrected it by putting a racquet or ball in front of my front foot,... biggest adjustment is usually the toss... rinse and repeat until front foot doesn't need to move to hit/reach the contact.

Lol it’s actually an IPhone 6 but it does look like a circa 2000.
just joking... i had a ip6 until like 1mo ago... (bit the bullet and went xs) so i know the pain... but yeah, it does still take decent enough vid, so somewhere in the conversion process, this vid got fubared.

LOL 4.5 league players FF 50% of the time.

I also immediately picked up on tlm's distance from the baseline.

While that is commendable and better than FFing, it is also inefficient.

50% of 4.5 ff... i believe that... took me an entire summer of practicing to break the habit.
most folks don't care enough (because they never played anything meaningful enough to get a ff called on them by a ref).

arguably *everything* at the rec level is done inefficiently (compared to pros)...
but i love that he cares enough to try not to ff.

i know at least one guy that will do that from the baseline, and take a full stride into the court... and he s&v's... then claims "what are you talking about?" or "are you gonna really call that bs?" if you challenge him.

I don't like to watch videos unless they are of high-level play because I am a high-level player.
as a player who likes to copy the technique of the greats... i'm awaiting your next video...
it's been a while since your last one went viral.

Well everyone here already knows that sureshs. We all still wish that you and Leed would play and show video, that would be a blockbuster.

I played against a 4.5 level guy that would do that, take a full step into the court and then charge the net. I consider that outright cheating, if a guy barely touches the line here and there I could care less. But taking a full step into the court is a different story.

I don't like to watch because I feel jelly to see singles players actually move on the tennis court. I can tolerate it when the ball is hit on 3rd bounce like I do
Yes, they should outlaw tennis singles format. It's too annoying to watch when they hit on one bounce or rush to volley.

The serve and forehand both look better than before.
I also like the blurry glow camera effect. Adds a romantic atmosphere to the match.

Ya it’s the fog look lol. I’ve worked on my serve a lot and trying to drive the ball more on the forehand.

It was a parody of the Soup ****. No soup for you come back in 1 year!

Look at 43 sec. Your normal fh is way better than that shot and some others...
Ya I get lazy and use the forehand slice too much. I watched the shot at 43 sec. Believe it or not that was supposed to be a drop shot, and it was not a good one. But your right I had time on that easy ball that I should have hit my normal topspin shot.

This is some God awful tennis but you are hitting it well man. Lol.... Fh looks good has juice on it. I like the little prancing steps and posing on the finishes. Nice touch.

You are improving imo. Hard to do as an adult. Bravo.

Did you mean serve? He only hit 1 forehand in the whole video, well and also a short putaway one.

I meant fh. He hits a short one after some prancing rain dance steps. And one fh at the end I remember. The chop bhs were terrible as usual.
But he didn't moonball his fh. He is improving. His serve was always decent.

Thanks I’m working hard on my game. Trying to drive the forehand more and use the 2 handed backhand instead of the chop slice.

I agree with @rogerroger917 you already know how to hit the high spin high arc moonball fh, now your getting a hang of a more agressive fh, and ur serve is good.

Can any 60 or so year old in ur area even get a game off you? You look great for your age and ur movement is impressive.

There aren’t many 60 year old guys that play singles, most of the guys I play are 50 and under and many are in their 40’s.

I bet u beat alot of them.
I do okay, in this past year I am now beating some of the stronger 4.0 players that I was losing to. Unfortunately at my indoor club it’s mostly doubles players, even the guys that are in their 30’s and 40’s mostly play doubles.

Now that I’m retired I have more time to work on my fitness and tennis. So far this winter I have only been playing 3-4 times a week usually I play 5 days a week. But I never miss my fitness training and have found it is as important as court time if not more.

But in the summer I was playing almost everyday, I would usually hit with the ball machine in the mornings then do some fitness training and play some sets in the evening. It is true that if you want to improve you need to concentrate on your weaknesses and work on them. I spent a lot more time hitting 2 handed backhands and serving this summer and it has paid off.
