You know what I mean. The feel of that slender, smooth, tapered throat of certain frames in the off-hand just gives you the confidence to nail the next shot!
Some throats just feel better in the hand.

That's funny I normally go for flat or box beams, but I actually quite enjoyed the rounded throat of the PD. Do you hit a one or a two hander?I really noticed this when I was playtesting the new PD that has has an oval beam in comparison to boxier-beams . Felt like my off hand was almost slipping when changing grips.
When actually hitting, it wasn’t that noticeable but just holding each I initially had some concerns

Don't like any of the Babolat throats . Not a fan of the thicker throats. Like the Blades and box beam phantoms. Also prefer matte finish paint vs glossy paint for touch.

Nothing compares to the TK57 mold throat (“Prestige” and PT630). Even the earlier Radicals, Phantoms, the Gravity and other thin beamed frames...

This was something that jumped out at me when comparing the 98 ezone to the 100. The 98 has such a sveltier throat that takeback on both FH and BH just feels more natural.

Agreed — if you hit a one-handed backhand. I do, and you need that thin edge to cradle the racquet to change grips. If you hit a two-hander, your second hand should be on the grip instead of cradling the frame so not as important.
I will add one more variable to the equation: glossy finish on the paint job. Easier to make that grip change with a glossy finish than a matte finish.

Yeah I was thinking more along the Pure Aeros and Pure Drives of the world. Haven't held a Pure Strike in a while
It's the other way for me. Don't like a glossy finish as much as a matte finish for grip changes. Since I'm rotating the racket with the throat hand, I want a little less slippery surface.

Has to be glossy paint! Matt paint is slippery like a satin sheet. I prefer a box beam, but am also fine with the ezone/aero shape for my one hander, you adjust pretty quickly. The paint matters more than shape for me. Paint on the new ezone is a bit slippery, the vcore is ok. My old Sv95 is full gloss and rocks as does the gloss on the new Wilson Blade Pro.

Used to play with the pro staff 95, loved the slim box beam in my hand. Just switched over to the Ezone which actually has a really nice slender throat and it was actually one of my favorite things about the racket lol

"Off hand feel" is a huge factor for me when it comes deeming if a racquet is "switchable". We all agree that box beams reign supreme!
I've coined with the term "soft box" when corners are slightly rounded (not tubular), also got a little test where I grip the throat with a decent amount of pressure and if its "sharp" (VCP HD, Prestige...where the edges come to a thin point, then its not the racquet for me)
also how open/angle of a throat is matters too. eg the Pro kennex KI 5 295 has a strange wide bridge and I feel like my hand doesn't sit comfortably where it would on any other frame.
when I was using the gravity pro it felt "sharp" and made me yearn for the Prince TxT 310 that felt like a better version of it...sold it off and went head first into a Prince phase...Synergy 98, Twistpower 97x are hidden gems when it comes off hand feel but also ball striking feel too

To each their own. I have 2 box beam PS97's now and love the feel of the throat. I played with Ezone 98 for 2 years prior and I adjusted to the feel of the throat but didn't like it as well as the PS97.
