Somebody please explain this...

So anyway, I got my 2 Pure Strike Tours, I cut out the string and weigh them.
One is 337 gram, one is 340 gram. I remove the grips and put 10 grams each on the handle.
Then I reweigh them, and they are somehow lighter...
Could someone please explain this?
I'm using a set of electronic kitchen scales, could the magnetic field that the lead is producing disrupt the function of the electronic scales??

Its not clear if you put the grip back on. Are you saying you took off the grip, put 10g in the handle, then put the grip back on, and it was lighter?

Yep for sure, lead is well known for producing magnetic fields of incredible intensity and can cause random EMP bursts that disrupt any nearby electrical devices.... when driving you must keep your racquets in the boot or they can play havoc with the cars electronic ignition and computer!

Did you put the grips back on?!?

What the other posters are saying is that the grips you removed and did not put back on probably weighed more than 10 grams. This is called a Senior Moment!

Oh come on, it can't be that simple.

Edit..
Maybe you're right. The grip I'll be putting on (Head Dual Absorbing) weighs 17 grams and strings, depending on type and diameter can be around 20 grams or more...
The frames now leaded up are around 330-335 grams...

Could the magnetic field of lead cause senior moments? Or just the long term exposure :)

Got to be really careful with that lead tape stuff. It can cause all sorts of problems.

Much better to use Blu-Tack. Sticky residue is much nicer to your body and your kitchen scales than stray EMR :)

Option 1. It's magic.
Option 2. the grip you removed weights more than 10g you added.

I'll go with 2.

Stop with the lead tape fear-mongering. It is not. Dangerous. At. All. Unless you are literally eating the stuff there is absolutely no danger of lead poisoning.

This is, like, the 9th post I've read in the last week that implies there is a danger. Is this about Flint, Michigan? I can't believe that it is because surely people must understand the difference between drinking lead particles and touching solid lead tape. No?

Help me understand this, please. Is this like chemtrails or fluoride in the water? Has it devolved to that level of tin-foil-hat-ness?

No kidding........sometimes it just boggles the mind what gets posted.

Just like the saccharin scare in the 80s, yes in lab mice it was shown to be a carcinogen, BUT one would have to drink like 80 diet sodas a day every day for like 50 yrs to match the levels the mice were given......hahahahaha

@supineAnimation and @DUROC, is it possible that the exposure to lead tape has dulled your abilities to detect sarcasm in posts? :)

Perhaps my exposure to both lead tape and Blu-Tack has dulled my ability to use sarcasm effectively :)

I've never had an issue with using lead tape on tennis racquets. I just prefer to use Blue-Tack because I find it a lot easier to work with.

No kidding........sometimes it just boggles the mind what gets posted.
And also how some of it gets interpreted too.

Cheers!
