A while back, I was told to try something a little different when stringing my frames. The twist was to vary the tension of the crosses and mains, not by a couple of pounds, but by a larger margin. So, yesterday, after I got through playing, I strung two of my Cat 8's up with the following tension:

I played today. I really like the way it feels. Now it may be my imagination at work, but the stringbed seems to pocket the ball more. The stringbed as a whole was very comfortable and felt great. I have a feeling I've been stringing these frames too tightly. I backed off the 58 pounds, crosses and mains that I was using.

In any event, I found the string job very user friendly and comfortable on my arm. We had combo state tournament around here, and I got to play 5 matches this weekend, so it was a good test and the contrast between the two string jobs is marked. I'll be going to this type set up in the future and recommending it to my friends and those I string for.
