Something other than a leather grip...

In search of something that provides that same immaculate bevel feel as leather but without adding the weight. Thin but not too thin as I want to maintain the grip size and obviously low compression.

What fits the bill?

I was a leather user for a long time and have been pleased with Head Ultimate. It stretches well and has good bevel feel without a lot of weight. Not sure if it is discontinued or low stock though bc I don't see it on TW anymore but other retailers have it still.

Other options might be the Hybrid grips that both Diadem and Angell make

I used to like the Head hydrosorb but now it feels too squishy. Looks like the ultimate is available on other sites though...

Yeah Ultimate and Hydrosorb are rated the same thickness but Ultimate stretches more and has a more defined bevel feel IMO. The Angell and Diadem are both similar to the old Wilson Hybrid grip that use a combo of leather and PU top layer.

I used to use only leather without an overgrip. Switched to Gamma Hi Tech, can't imagine going back.

If you use an over grip, Gamma Hi Tech is pretty firm and not thin. The skin is a bit plasticy feeling though, so texture is quite different from leather. When stretched tight under an over grip the bevel feel and compression is very similar to the Wilson leather I just replaced with it. Wilson is 1.6mm and Gamma is 1.9mm. I absolutely loved the leather feel but the weight threw off balance too much.
