can not see the whole court because chair umpire is blocking their view

and the poor spectators sitting at the last rows, can they see the action clearly

Yeah I always book the seats behind the baselines. You don't have to keep looking left to right, right to left all the time.

I have sat behind the umpire's chair a few times but my view has not been impeded at all. You also get to see the players really close during the change- over

one more question how it is decided which side of court chair umpire will sit ie right or left

The umpire sits high up in line with the net so no part of the court is obscured and I prefer to sit there because at the baseline you are looking at the back of one player all the time sitting right in the middle you see both players all the time. I have bought my tickets for Abu Dhabi exactly behind the umpire's chair where I have sat with other regulars for a few years.

With the tournaments I have been to only Wimbledon doesn't let you choose your seat. At the O2, Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi you can choose your seat from the plan of the stadium which is provided. At Abu Dhabi, you choose the block you want then they allocate the actual seats.

thanks for explaining in detail, i have never been to a tennis tournament even though i lived in usa for 12 years from 1990-2001
