Speed and Bounce Differences of Grand Slams' Surfaces

Sorry for the newbie question. I'm curious to know the speed and bounce differences of different slams surfaces.

Say US Open is the fastest slam surface in terms of speed, give it a speed rating of 10. And French Open the highest bounce slam surface, a bounce rating of 10. What are the speed and bounce ratings of Wimbledon? Australian Open? French Open? And US Open?

What about indoor carpet surfaces? I'm not sure if they (Madrid, Paris & Shanghai) are all the same?

And typical synthetic grass? Green clay (Har-Tru)?

Tough to guess but this is what I think.
US Open Speed 8 Bounce 5
Wimbledon Speed 8.5 Bounce 4
Australian Open Speed 7.5 Bounce 5.5
French Open Speed 3 Bounce 9
Hamburg Speed 2 Bounce 7
Madrid Speed 8.5 Bounce 5
Paris Speed 8 Bounce 3
Shanghai Speed 8 Bounce 3
Green Clay?
Synthethic Grass?

:D :D :D :D
conversation about court surface? guess who is the 1st one to respond
and you even put it in numbers wow
if wimbledon is 8.5
then green clay is 8.0
and synthetic grass is 22.5

The US OPEN is faster than Wimbledon now and Hamburg is arguably faster than a 2, but besides that every thing else seems decent.

Well, Nadal_freak which is a Nadal fan of course sure thinks Wimbledon is still as fast as when it was in 90s to give more credit to Nadal for winning it.

Seriously, grass in the 90's used to be like synthetic grass. Nowadays its more like just hard mud with just a few bits of grass on top which bounces really high because there is nothing to make it skid across.

Don't forget Wimbledon's balls can slide through the grass at any given moment so to say that it's easily comparable to the U.S Open is an understatement. Add in the fact of unpredictable conditions, different ball's used/humidity etc.

Another thing that Wimbledon has done is open all the cans of the balls a few weeks before the tournament starts, which takes away the pace of the ball and the ability of the ball to skid through the court.

New Grass + Harder Undercovering = less bad bounces and LESS SKIDDING. Higher bounces, plus slower horizontal speed = results you see now.

it would be interesting if we could place the different surfaces on such a graph, taking into account both speed and bounce :

How fast is Shanghai compared to USO?
Well, China's economy grew at an average rate of 10% per year during the period 1990- 2004 and is estimated to grow 8% annually from 2006 to 2010.
US economy grew at an annual rate of 2.8%... And it's America, not Omerica!

So Shanghai's pretty fast, I'd say.
