I find this battle of racquets very intriguing the specs are really oddly interchanged. Usually racquets in a line all follow a certain direction as they get lighter. However, this ones go tit for tat on every line.
Unstrung Static
MP-L 275
Team 285
Strung Swing
MP-L 315
Team 306

Already this is interesting.

Beam Thickness
MP-L 23
Team 25
RA
MP-L 63
Team 66
Mains in throat
MP-L 8 (I believe the pattern is identical to the MP)
Team 6

Can you help me understand which racquet is a better fit for which type of player?

I'm looking to get a speed that is the way speeds used to be... FAST through the air. I'm at odds with which one is the better pick for someone still looking to be very competitive. Not looking for a "beginner" racquet.

Curtennis,

The Speed MP L was not released in the US market so we have not hit with it or seen a sample. Both racquets are basically aimed at intermediates who are not ready for the heavier MP and Pro. Looking at the specs, the Team is a tad faster than the MPL, and it has a thicker stiffer beam, which could help with stability/power.

Hope that helps!

Old thread but...you can still find these rackets around and I was searching on them today.
The Team has thicker beam making it cut throw the air a bit slower.
The Team has a bit more free power.
You can add 10 grams to the tail (handle) of the MP L to equal the weight and balance and Swingweight with the Team (handle) and you will have made it whippier/faster and now the MP l is more fast bc thinner frame.
In principle you can weigh up the MP L to match the MP by adding weight to handle and hoop.
...If you add the 10 grams to the handle of the MP L the Team is more a beginners racket than the MP L
