Speed MP vs Extreme Tour

I'm comparing these two. Now why not the Extreme MP? I think the other 2 are more similar. The EMP is stiffer, thicker beam, more power, less control. I'm ~4.5 player, hangout at the baseline a lot, but all court as well.

I feel the SMP and ETour are more similar in terms of power to control ratio. SMP has larger sweet spot while still offering control; also good spin potential.

ETour might have good control because of the smaller head size, yet still offers decent power and spin. SMP might offer more room for customizing.

If you like that bigger sweet spot and generate your own control, go for SMP. If you need more control and don't need the bigger sweet spot, then go for the ETour.

I agree that they are broadly similar playing having compared them about 6 months ago, but I found SMP more of a baseliner stick, compared to the ET which was more all-court. SMP was a bit clunky to manoeuvre, but did have easier depth.

Did you find the SMP had a bit more power, or were they similar?

Yes, a touch more power and a touch higher launch angle. ET is a touch more precise.

Also, maybe I should consider the Extreme MP at this point as well...

Hi Myke, the ExMP is lots more pwr than those two. Lots. But in fact the way you describe your game... I really think you should be looking at more that sort of racquet.

The ETour and the SMP are more a precise all-court type racqs... (though the SMP in more recent versions has been headed twrds clunky heavier sw)

I agree, I demoed a couple of lower powered raquets and decided I enjoy having some free power as I'm on the smaller side. I'm considering the Pure Aero 23 now as well. Coming from a Textreme Warrior 100 which has some power. Wondering how the PA23 and SMP ExMP compare in terms of power and stiffness. Warrior is RA of 66...
