Quick q - the pulling speed options on the electronic tension head, what speed do you use with which type of strings?
Thanks.

When I had my Wise I used the slower setting because I thought it would be better. I ended up getting error messages and send the unit back. Herb Wise told me nothing was wrong but I has the slow speed selected for 60 lbs. Herb said I should only use the slow speed for lower tensions.

On my Babolat there is no speed selection available. The speed is automatically selected by the program. The stiffer the string the faster the pulling speed. More softer strings like ZX pull much slower.

I used the highest speed when stringing with a Wise, never had an issue. With the Mighty Sensor, there is no selector. I've not noticed a difference in speed with any string, it's all fast.

If you have an eCP or just a plain old electrical, RTFM. If you are thinking about getting a machine with eCP, do the research by checking out the UG or manual. Normally embedded in there somewhere are instructions for selecting pulling speeds IF the option exists. If you do not see it, then it is not a option.

I use normal speed setting with Nat. gut, syn gut, and multi strings, and use slow speed with poly strings. Never used the fast speed.

thanks all - i should've included in the OP that i have a Pro's Pro MT-400 eCP head.

annoyingly it did not come with a manual, hence the questions. It has 3 speeds and I remember reading something online about these speeds was related to the type of the string, hence different pulling speed maybe ideal.. but i can't remember where i read that..lol

so, for now i have left it at speed 2 for mainly syn gut and multi string jobs....

i have reached out to PP for operational/maintenance manual, so wee see what they come back with.
thanks again.

With my Prince 5000 they recommend slow speed for natural gut, medium speed for poly, and fast speed for nylon and syn gut. Not exactly sure why but I stay with these recommendations for consistency's sake!
