Speed Pro 2024 vs 2022 ?

Hi everyone,


I need some advice. I recently ordered a Head Speed Pro 2024 from TW Europe using the matching service because I wanted to make sure I got a solid spec.


I asked for a heavier spec and received one with these unstrung measurements:

• Weight: 315.5g

• Balance: 31.4 cm (roughly 9 pts HL)

• Swingweight: 295

On paper, this looked decent. But when I strung it up and took it to the court, I was shocked. It felt like I was playing with a toy racket. It felt completely "light in the head" and unstable. There was zero plow through, I felt like I had to muscle everything because the racket wasn't driving through the ball on its own.

I'm really looking for that sensation where the racket "drives alone" and cuts through the air with mass behind it. I'm not really into heavy customization (I prefer the stock frame to be right), though I might be open to a little lead or silicone if absolutely necessary.

The question is, should i go and get a speed pro 2022 , that have a more head heavy balance about 31.9 or 32cm unstrung?

All Head pro level racquets have always been totally underpowered, they come alive only when you put huge amounts of lead at 12, or all around the hoop, nothing new

Try lowering the string tension, string it super low with a string that has some power and elasticity. Most of these "influencer" strings that are now "in" are low or mediocre in power and elasticity. Try Lux Eco Power, RPM Power, Razor Code white etc, or just Hawk Touch

2022 Speed Pro was a bit clunky, if you want to move the ball around with flat balls and counterpunch, it can work OK. If you want to attack then it will feel lame. But it did feel as if it had some plow, compared to 2024, at the same swingweight. 2024 Speed Pro swings differently, and its flex totally kills the pace. A total control racquet. And I tried it with sw from 325 to 350 with fresh Lynx Tour

However, 2026 Speed Pro is reportedly much stiffer, especially in the throat, will probably be less underpowered

So yes, it is what i first think, 2022 feels heavier because of the balance towards the head

Yes, it's more polarized, it has more mass at the top
