Speed Pro players: Which version is/was your favorite (I've been out of the loop for a while.)

So I developed some kind of urge to try a Speed Pro. However, I've been out of the loop avoiding these forums for the past years, because they make me want to buy everything and make it seem that there is always something better, nicer that I have to buy. Lots of money was wasted, I can tell you that :) That said, this community is amazing and I have learned SO much on here, it's invaluable. My point is that there seems to be at least 6 or 7 generations of the Speed Pro. Is there a consensus on which one is "the best"? If not, can some of you guys simply share which one if your favorite? My heart wants the new 360+ in black, what a beauty, but my wallet would love it if an older version was "the one". Off the top of my head, I've stumbled upon the IG Youtek Speed Pro, The Graphene Speed Pro, The Graphene XT Speed Pro, The Graphene Touch Speed Pro, the Graphene 360 Speed Pro, The Graphene 360+ Speed Pro, the Graphene IG Touch+ Speed Pro and the Youtek XT 360 Speed Pro. Ok, ok, I made up these last two, but that's a whole lot of different gens and it's giving me headache. Can anyone that I've never seen play that might be on a completely different skill level than me with incompatible strokes share an opinion to appease my conscience and convince myself that I bought a solid version? Would be greatly appreciated. :D

....ohh and... DO NOT tell me that the MP is better, I don't have another 4 hours to rethink everything, read threads and reviews and ... doubt. Forever.

The 98 16x19.... Not sure if that's the IG? I've been looking for a softer version ever since but nothing is close.

The newest 360+ isn't very similar
spec wise, (aside from balance) but it hits a similar ball.

I thought all the Speed Pros were 100 sq.in with 18x20 pattern. No? Do you think you can find a picture of the one you are talking about? Thanks.

Mp 360+ is better :)

Of your listed models... IG Youtek Speed Pro and Speed Pro 360+ are the best. Youtek is a little too unique for my tastes so I would likely suggest Speed Pro 360+. Currently playing with Gravity Pro and Speed MP 360+. I would be happy to play with Speed Pro 360+. I might've picked it had the Gravity Pro not existed. Speed Mp 360+ is my alternate because it is so easy to play with...

Tennis Spin youtube channel guy said there will be a new head speed in early 2022, might just be a cosmetic update. so the black beauty you want might go on sale if you can wait : )

The debate you're having is made more difficult by the fact that the earlier Speed Pros (in particular the IG Speed line) are updated current Gravity Pros. So in some way they are not as comparable with the current Speed Pros (which are thicker).

I have the IG Speed 300 MP (16x19) from the IG Speed line, as it was thinner, lowest RA (57), and 16x19 but almost identical (if not so) in mould and beam thickness to the G360+ Gravity Pro. I have modified it with weight in the head and handle, and it plays very much like my GP, but with a more open 16x19 pattern.

My G360+ Speed Pro plays very differently to the IG Speed 300 MP, looks completely different, serves different... and to me is a completely different racquet. The IG Speed Pro 18x20, I would imagine is more similar to the IG Speed 300 MP than the G360+ Speed Pro.

I haven't tried any other Speed Pro iteration... but the current G360+ SP is great (only part proving to be more challenging is the serve).

I love my G360+ Gravity Pros, and I place my IG Speed 300 MP in this same category as a 16x19 Gravity Pro.

Hope that helps some.

Yes, absolutely, this helps a lot at understanding the evolution of a line I haven't been paying attention to. All this is very interesting as I thought for sure the new gravity line had a totally new and never seen before head shape. People describe it as a tear drop shape and it does look like that from pictures. I had never noticed the first Speeds were like this. Thanks for the insight!

Speed series has a more traditional oval shaped head, Gravity is wider in the upper shoulders (10 & 2, teardrop style) positions which raises the sweet spot to a higher position that the more traditional location you’ll get with the Speed.

This is true of the current, and recent, Speed iterations... but not the earlier ones (up to IG Speed at least).

I've placed the IG Speed 300 MP over my Gravity Pro... and they seem identical (or at least so close that it can't be that much more revolutionary). They may have changed the SW and static weight...but otherwise quite similar. After all, Zverev and Barty used to play with the old IG Speed line tailored to their preferences. The Gravity line might just be closer to what their actual specs might have been (or a retail version of it... kind of like the difference between a PT57A and a PT630).

the original graphene speed pro and the current 360+ are probably the best of the lot. for some reason, the touch speed pro was my favorite.

Currently using the 360 Pro version a great jack of all trades, but not as forgiving when volleying...prob my technique.

Just feels a tad too stiff when volleying....a came from a TI Radical 100 so that was pretty soft compared to the 360. It's a beast on groundies and serves.

I have the GPro. Amazing feel and does everything well all around. The only hesitation I have is some times wanting a bit more free power on the forehand. Is that your experience between the Gpro and Speed as well?

Basically is the question does the Speed Pro/Mp 360+ have more power then the Gravity Pro? Mp has quite a bit...Speed Pro is closer but depends on the players swing.

Speed Pro will give you that little bit more free power for sure. GPro provides more spin with a little more forgiveness due to bigger sweetspot. They are close, but my Head sensor data consistently shows that I hit a few mph faster on every shot. Speed Pro spin numbers are close to the GPro, but GPro definitely hits with more spin. End result for me is that the combined speed/spin numbers means I actually hit a heavier ball with the Speed Pro. I gained more mph than I lost in spin so it was a win/win for me... plus the lighter static weight of the Speed makes it just that bit easier to tote around the court for 2-3 hours.

I actually have a Speed MP in my bag as well and played with it a little last night. MP definitely has more free power than the Pro version and easier access to spin. MP reminds me of the current PA but more controllable with better comfort. I'm just addicted still to the weight/power/spin/feel combo I get with the Speed Pro. Ticks a ton of boxes for me. I like the Speed MP, but it doesn't create the same heavy ball that the Pro does.
