ASICS today launches the new SOLUTION SPEED™ FF 3 tennis shoe featuring new PRECISION-SOLE™ technology. Developed with advanced 3D modeling and ASICS’ traditional Japanese craftsmanship, the PRECISION-SOLE™ provides a better combination of grip and flexibility on the tennis court - essential requirements of the fast, all-court player.
Professional players Alex de Minaur, and reigning Olympic gold medalist in singles and silver medalist in doubles, and #17 in the world, Belinda Bencic have tested SOLUTION SPEED ™ FF 3 throughout the design and development process.
“I joined the ASICS team in April of 2023, but actually Solution Speed FF™ series has been my go-to shoe for a long time,” said Belinda Bencic. “I feel very fortunate to be able to represent such a strong tennis brand. Now, becoming closer to the team, I am blown away by how serious they take every detail. When I step on court I really feel unstoppable wearing ASICS.”
“It was a great process, to be able to give my feedback on how to improve a very good shoe already,” said Alex de Minaur. “For SOLUTION SPEED FF™ 3, they delivered what I needed, more flexibility and a lighter feel, but also some serious evolution with the PRECISON-SOLE™ outsole. It just shows the attention to detail ASICS always have when creating new tennis shoes, and that is why they are the best for me. I know when I step on the court wearing ASICS I can be confident I am wearing the best in the game.”
ASICS develops tennis shoes based on playing styles, the way a tennis player moves on the court. The SOLUTION SPEED FF™ 3 is the flagship model of the all-court playing style. This player is looking for more speed, flexibility and a lightweight feel without sacrificing comfort.
“With each new product we launch, we start from the core pillars of the ASICS Design Philosophy: ASICS uses athlete wear testing, biomechanical science, recycled materials and decades of continuous innovation to create products that feel best for both body and mind,” said Tatsuya Ishikawa, ASICS’ Global Product Manager of tennis footwear. “Solution Speed FF™ 3 is a great testament to this process, and we are confident it will be a game-changer for the speedy all-court player.”
A lighter footprint for a brighter tomorrow
The SOLUTION SPEED FF™ 3 is the first tennis shoe in the industry* to include the transparency logo reporting on total CO₂ emissions for every pair of shoes created, a step in lowering total emissions in the value chain for a more brighter tomorrow.
Honestly reminds me of those old 2014-2016 ASICS shoes like the original court FF.FF2 is one of the best looking tennis shoes. This not so much..
i really hope this one has better cushioining with better energy return. i heard last one was horrible cushioining, thin with very little enery return. lets hope Asic heard the complaint and improved itI wish they would add some additional material back to the heel. I think it would make the shoe feel a lot more stable.
Weird i feel the very opposite with SS FF2. Its probably the most cushioned tennis shoe i have tried. Energy return is good too. Maybe people complaining are too heavy for it..i really hope this one has better cushioining with better energy return. i heard last one was horrible cushioining, thin with very little enery return. lets hope Asic heard the complaint and improved it
Cushioning is excellent despite it lasts only 3-4 months max if you compete 4 times at least each week. My main complain is that they must do it more secure specially around the heel.Weird i feel the very opposite with SS FF2. Its probably the most cushioned tennis shoe i have tried. You get heel slippage?Cushioning is excellent despite it lasts only 3-4 months max if you compete 4 times at least each week. My main complain is that they must do it more secure specially around the heel.
they sure look great... lets hope they perform as gooo. FF2 speed was major flop
did it have problems with heel slippage ?? if it did, hope they fixed it. that's another reason why i can't use certain models of shoes. There is no heel slippage with SS FF2. People with heel slippage in that shoe are using too large sizes or not knotting it correctly..did it have problems with heel slippage ?? if it did, hope they fixed it. that's another reason why i can't use certain models of shoes. Heel slippage is automatic throw away for me
did you think though it had as good of cushioning as Novak's shoes ? and as good of energy return ? most people are saying notDang people hated the 2? That’s my favorite shoe ever haha
Doesn’t need great cushioning and energy return (marketing speak btw) as a speed oriented shoe.did you think though it had as good of cushioning as Novak's shoes ? and as good of energy return ? most people are saying not
I was at the Asics outlet last night and tried on a pair of Gel Resolution for the first time. How does the stability in this Speed compare to the Gel Res line?
I generally like most speed oriented shoes but many of them don’t have the stability I need.
how about energy feedback ? does the cushioning give you back alot of energy ?Got a pair of FF3s and wore them on the court today for the first time. They don't need a ton of break-in time but they do need a little. But the light-weightness is no joke -- these are way lighter than Gel Res 9s, and lighter than what I had been wearing for almost all of last year, the Head Revolt Pro 4.0. That shoe was a little more stable than the FF3 (more like a Gel Res competitor) but sacrifices a bit of speed. That said, the FF3 isn't *unstable* by any means. There's plenty of firmness around the heel; side-to-side movement never feels like it's threatening your ankle. It's also very comfy in the toe box (I have normal-width foot, normally wear 10.5 and these 10.5s are right on) and has a very satisfying squeak on hardcourt (for now). Definitely the best Asics I've ever worn.
I know looks are subjective, but to me they are great-looking in the white/black. The Head Revolt Pro performs so well but it looks a little clunky on the foot. These, not at all. Really nice.

WOW,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i am definitely trying this shoes too. I was going to try the Yonex Eclipsion 5 as well since they made it little bit lighter now. I wonder which has better energy return ??????? Yonex has that powercushion,,, but that Gel of asic in the past never really returned alot of energy but more of schock absorbing gel. where as powercushion returned energy really well...Yes, I’d say 8/10 in that area.

Very interesting and fascinating... indeed about FF3It’s been a while since I wore the Gel Res but I agree that was more absorbing. But these FF3s are almost a fusion tennis and running shoe and that’s what I think is giving me better energy return than either the Gel Res or the Revolts (which had very little return but insanely good comfort and stability).
Edit: never worn the Yonex you mention so I can’t compare it.
A video review (maybe what was posted in this thread?) said that the Speed has a shank running along the foot like many running shoes have, which indeed is a big energy return feature. The Gel Res does not have it.WOW,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i am definitely trying this shoes too. I was going to try the Yonex Eclipsion 5 as well since they made it little bit lighter now. Sizing is really the same than the FF2?Got a pair of FF3s and wore them on the court today for the first time. They don't need a ton of break-in time but they do need a little. The 3 is not a little wider in the toe box?
