Speed Solution FF3

I tried this shoe on and it felt quite narrow in the midfoot, wider in the forefoot. Also, big time heel slippage issue for me. A bummer, wanted to like it. Long lost Asics Speed 2 remains my goat shoe. Wish they could bring it back like Nike did with the Vapor 9/9.5 for a time.
exactly i had major ankle instability with this shoes

Em relação ao comprimento das FF3, eu uso 41. Comprei este modelo no tamanho 41,5 e com as meias grossas os dedos tocam na frente. Tive que devolver e comprar o 42

Do they still unnaturally rock your feet forward like the FF2?
I had a pair and actually really liked them, but the laces dug into the top of my foot, surprising given the tongue is padded.

Considering to buy this shoe to replace my beat up nike vapor pro 2. Any comparison between those two in terms of lateral stability and heel slippage?

Seems like this shoe is the only one comfortable enough for me on Asics lineup, since Court FF3 is too bulky and Gel Resolution feels the tightest on my foot

BTW, it is striking that no pro, incuding De Minaur as first, seems to appreciate this update: after 3 months since speed ff3 it is on the market, all of them keep on wearing the ff2

I had high hopes for this shoe and it does feel great and is incredibly light, which I value since I'm getting up in age and am still an all court player who plays a lot of singles. However, I just couldn't get over the need for more stability, which I get from shoes like the court ff or lacoste AG-LT Ulras. Maybe if I was younger and my footwork was top notch these would work, but just not enough stability/firmness to help me set up for stepping into the ball and quick stop and starts.

just got the solution speed ff3 red, size UK 7, EU 41.5, CM 26, US 8

these are almost perfect but just a little tight in the toe box

will they open up a bit after break in or should i go up a size ? thats 26.5 CM will the bigger size be longer or will they be longer and wider ?

or should i buy a shoe tool to make the shoes wider ?

thanks

i tried this = a lacing technique for wider forefoot , i think it solved the problem , you can read about it at asics webpage

I've been playing with new version (clay outsole) for a while now and I think these shoes are disapponting, at least for me. It seems they trade too much stability for too much lightness. Speed FF2 where a very better compromise.

Just got FF3 (US size 13) and the shoe is definitely tighter in the toe box, where my fingers feel completely cramped to the point that the pain goes up to the feet. It is very disappointing update as the insole is the exact size same size of the previous version FF2, which was a perfect fit. This was also the only shoe that was fitting my feet without any pain. I can obviously try one size up, but then the heel will probably not lock in that well.

Can anyone here compare these with kswiss hypercourt extreme 2? I´ve been using the kswiss on clay (very much satisfied) but would like to know if these asics are worth the change. Thanks!!

Dont really understand people complaining that this shoe has narrower toe box than FF2. To me it feels roomier. With the FF2 my feet felt numb the first time using it because of how tight it was (same size). Very comfortable shoe, but FF2 is probably slightly more stable because of the harder upper and tighter fit.

I agree with this. The FF2 tapered quite a bit, and it started a bit further back than most shoes. It irritated the surface of my foot near my proximal 5th metatarsal head and my fifth toe. Haven't had that with other Asics models. It did eventually break in as the uppers stretched to my foot. Length was close to true for me.

The Speed FF3 on initial try on had more space for my pinky toe and I did not feel any rubbing or irritation. A better toebox fit for my foot. Since we all have different feet, I suppose feedback could be different. For example, measurements from one of the sites that cuts shoes in half notes a 5mm decrease in forefoot width at the widest portion for the FF3. This did not impact fit for me, but for some it might.

I recently bought both to compare the fit and cushioning.
FF2 was narrower in the toe and mid foot, but had more cushioning. FF3 felt really firm underfoot which was a huge shame as the fit was great. Sent both back and settled on Mizuno wave exceed your 6, comfy and super light weight

Same for me, I agree with everything. Took a while to break in the FF2, but I could fit into the 3s right away. The upper on these are more comfortable and they feel slightly lighter, but perhaps the 2 had a bit more stability. The lacing and tongue is better on these but overall not a huge difference. Both are great in my opinion, if you like light and fast feeling shoes.

FF3s' tongue keep moving to the side and hurt my feets arch a bit. Is FF2s' tongue same or similar?
The tongue is shorter and a bit thicker on the FF2. I prefer the FF3 version, as it's easier to adjust, but had no problem with either in the way you describe.

I agree that FF3 are more comfortable than FF2, the upper is lighter and has more room. Still, after a couple of months of using them (on clay), I still can't say if I like them or not. If they were a racket, I'd say they are inconsistent: given that lightness and speed are top level (and that's what at the end of a day I seek for in tennis shoes), some day they feel cushioned and stable, some day stiff e unstable. Tongue is definitely an issue as @devoker described: need a very very tight lacing.

I am relatively skinny and my feet are kinda boney. Maybe that's why I am having the issue. Howver, my gel res 9s don't have this problem.

My ff3s are about to die and looking for a replacement. I have gel res 9s for hard court but need clay alternative. I can't decide between res9, res8, ff3, and ff2. Resolutions are comfortable and stable but feel heavier after getting used to ff3s, and my style looks like the rubbish version of de minaur :)
Most people say ff2 is better than ff3, and I got confused even more.

I feel you: after experiencing the lightness of Solution Speed, it's impossibile to get back... Still, and overall, I think Speed FF2 was a better shoe, even if I'm growing accustomed to FF3.

So I bought a pair of these to go along with the GR9s I have. Think I need to break them in a little bit as the forefoot is a bit snug, but I did really like the FF2s and I'm thinking these will be great too.
