I have the polytour rev in my vcore 100 right now and like it, but I don’t have anything else to compare strings to. Im looking for a more spin and control string with decent durability. Power doesn’t matter to me a lot, more or less is okay. Some ideas I have are polytour pro, solinco confidential, hyper g and lynx tour. What are your ideas and suggestions?.

Give Signum Pro X-perience a look also. The brilliant green might not look great in your frame, but I tried both in my Blackout XTD, and found Rev was a little too powerful.

The X-perience gets a little more bite on the ball, giving you a bit more control.

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews about the x-perience so I’ll probably use another string first, but i’ll keep it in mind for the future. I also do have a little too much power in the REV so I strung it high at 55lbs (about right for me, still a bit to much power). What should I do for other strings from your experience?

I’ve never been a fan of changing too many things at once, so if you’re trying a new string, I’d recommend going with the same tension first.

I realize this can get expensive if you don’t string your own racquets, but you can always do the old “stand on the stringbed” to drop it a few lbs if too tight.

Thanks, I’ll definitely do that then.

I’ve tried all the strings in your list, and rev plays with just as much spin, it’s just more muted compared to lynx tour and hyper g. I wouldn’t change your string, but the poly tour fire actually compliments the 100 better than rev imo

I would like to at least try a more controlled string, but if I don’t like it as much I probably will go back.

You aren't going to find a string with more control than Rev, it is a control string 200%

Maybe tension is not right, too stiff perhaps, Rev needs lower tensions

Try Poly Tour Pro 1.25 yellow

Lower the tension. PTRev plays better at mid 40's and low 50's.
Try 48 pounds or lower.

I think Solinco Confidential 1.25 would go well with vcore 100
I am thinking about the confidential. Seems to be in the middle if all the strings, good control, and the color would work well most recommended to me too. To lower the tension should I just step on it or would I need it restrung? Thanks.

found this thread by a coincidence ... I also have Rev, strung together with Pro, at 24/24 and it's really explosive, far from being controlled. so if I lower the tension, it will actually get less explosive? because I did that with another string and it became a catapult, went back to higher tension, and was much better, but then changed it all together, because it didn't last long ...

what tension would you string confidential 1.25 in a vcore 100? I just bought mine and strung at 50 lbs which is what I used in my speed mp but Im considering lowering it because I found it a bit demanding
