Wow the reviews of the on roger say its basically the opposite of the GR8. Are they building her a new shoe?

She's #1 in the world by a gigantic margin- over 6000 points ahead of Jabeur. How could it be better?

It's not about the ranking. It's whether she's hot, charismatic, or controversial. That's what sells, especially on the women's side.

Don't shoot the messenger here. If we are being real, most people recognize this already. However, Sorana Cirstea confirmed this last month when she was speaking out about her Adidas experience:

I like Iga. She's a hard worker and seems wholesome. The kind of gal you want to bring home to meet Momma. However, she isn't winning any modeling contests, which is why she may not be top tier marketable. (Maybe she needs to threaten to kill a line judge?)

Not wrong by any stretch. I think she will be a great ambassador - just thought their first TRUE tennis player sign would be an international icon of sorts - that is all. I personally like her.

If it was Nike then yes, but ON is Swiss company with Federer on board and they have totally different approach to business. They focus on quality mostly and not really on funky design/streetwear. So they are likely to sign Iga as she fits to their image, kinda like Henin or Hingis would fit. They are opposite to what Osaka or Bouchard could endorse.

I agree with this. Look- if you sign the world number one- where's the downside? Answer: none.

More like every week or so; it’s like the top third of the mountain has been chopped off so that now anyone can pop up and win a major. It’s not so much about depth of the field - more lack of height.

Mens tennis is the same, just wait till Nadal and Novak retire and you have the same mess as WTA.
But at least Swiatek is convincing, much more than Alcaraz.
