They are busy designing a shoe for her

ew Liked by tenniswarehouse and 30 096 others iga.swiatek *™ Exciting year of some announcements and next steps on my journey. I'm thrilled to announce I am the first female tennis athlete at @on _running. I'm happy the On team believes in me as an athlete and a person. We plan to grow, develop and make an impact together. You'll see me in totally new outfits during my next matches and I hope you like it as much as I do. And what's more exciting... we started to work on my shoes which are crucial in my job and will complement my style of play, giving me everything I need on court. As the process of designing unique shoes takes time, you'll see me in On shoes later during the year. And when you do... it's gonna be huge.

Is peyton stearns(newly top 100) not with Nike anymore? Her last insta post, she is not really nike clothes(disregard hat and shoes). I think she was also wearing Adidas a couple of times during the IW.
Peyton Stearns has been in 2 finals this year. Looks like she is using an 18x20 string pattern with Blade paint. Any insight if it is really a Blade or H22?
Also she previously used a white 18x20 custom paint Wilson at Univ. Of Texas .
Al least that is my guess seeing what looks like the red Wilson butt cap from not so clear youtube videos. Anyone know the details of her racquet and string setup?

She should be using the current gen Blade. It was the same frame in the white paint she got herself for the last part of college. But obviously once turned pro Wilson wanted her in retail cosmetic I assume per sponsorship agreement. Would be surprised if she is not using Alu Power since she is with Wilson.

Knew her since I was at UT while she played, I can ask next time I see her in person.

Didn't see the Bencic post on IG?
Theres an IG story on asicstennis doing a 'teaser' it definitely looks like Bencic given the ball bounce ,the racket (EZONE) and the the necklace in the 2nd bit looks very much what Belinda wears... Very interesting as I would say Belinda is one of Nike's faces (not to mention she does look great and if I was a female I would definitely buy because of her, Bianca and Petra)

Bublik to Tecnifibre not Head
Not sure if either of these moves to different racquets is anything more than Bublik trying something different. I just hope he rekindles his passion for the game before his career implodes.

I feel like Nike has lost interest in tennis. They shut down their instagram, and they seem like they aren’t trying with their designs anymore.
They are over invested in players and are just trimming the fat imo. In all honesty the ig account was sporadic and rarely being updated

IG is a big marketing tool. Not marketing tennis isn’t a good sign. Every other company that is deeply involved in tennis has an account. Strange move to drop it and shrinking the visibility on tour isn’t good.

Very surprised by this. I would have guessed she was the next to be with On.
Agreed - If anything I thought she might have gone with NB/Lacoste - She is a good commercial model for street style from NB/Adidas (which she was with before going to Nike) rather than Asics which I feel is quite 'average' but hey, I am sure she's getting paid well! Good on her. I still wouldn't buy Asics regardless of my gender (Never gelled with their designs/logo)

It’s a missed opportunity but it’s not like they were taking advantage of it. Still the most visible brand in tennis with or w/o it

Let’s see if they can get her to actually wear the Asics speeds.
this surprised me the most haha of all the people they got the one person with the most specific choice in footwear to be the new face

After Svitolina, Bencic and Edmond, who will be the next that Nike will drop ?

Dimitrov
Shapovalov
Andreescu
Azarenka
Unless there's behavior that embarrasses the brand, Nike will likely continue supplying shoes and clothing to these players. Money is another matter, and players may not earn much unless their results (or a previously signed contract) justify it. I suspect that many "sponsorship changes" documented in this thread are when some players simply get a better offer to try another clothing/shoe line.

He already said in an interview that he hates tennis and just plays for the money.

I agree but there has been some information that Nike dropped some players or probably stopped paying them but still provide shoes/clothes. That makes for a good opportunity for another company to offer payment, shoes, and clothes.

Why not? Aren´t they great shoes?
She has notoriously continued to wear shoes that Nike made a bit under 10 years ago. Suggesting she is very picky about her shoes whether modern shoes are "good" or not. For the record I too love Asics Speeds and think all manufacturers have made fine shoes recently... pros are just "like" that

Understood- but I believe Bublik gave that interview before his current patch of poor results. Now that he's under severe pressure to maintain his career, I wonder if he's changed his tune. After all, it's hard to keep up the travel, practice and training needed to remain a viable pro. Without some personal passion for the game, I think it would be difficult to keep results at a high enough level to continue earning much money.
