Looks like Percept to me with this angle of the throat, he also has Yonex finishing tape on his tournagrip which suggests hes sponsored by them now
Percept color tour bag as well. I do believe the announcement is to come

Samsonova is now wearing a K-Swiss visor and Australian brand top. She’s been unsponsored by K-Swiss for close to a year now.

Lacoste had advertised him in their shoes originally, so I'm thinking his shoe contract might run a little longer then he will make the move.
Yeah, that was my biggest question: would he be Lacoste head to toe.

It's the only thing that I don't like about the Dimitrov move to Lacoste; that he still wears Nike shoes. It just sticks out and looks weird to me.

Djokovic... well, I personally can't stand Djokovic, so nothing would have worked for me in regard to him. And he has a huge contract with Asics, so I can't blame him for still wearing their shoes.

Medvedev has it perfect, he looks great in Lacoste head to toe.

On Fils still wearing Asics: I've always worn Lacoste, and I've always worn Asics shoes. But I stopped wearing Asics and switched to Lacoste when Lacoste started making "performance" shoes again.

Surely Fils and Dimitrov can do the same. :giggle:

I mean, it's not like asking them to play with the Lacoste L.23 racquet too. I do that, but they don't also have to do that. :giggle:

What in the world are those shoes Caroline Garcia is wearing??? The only thing that Yonex markets that it could've been is the PCE 3 but it's certainly not those. It's the same profile as the New Balance 996s she was wearing the last couple years...even the outsole looks the same, as well as the placement of the Yonex logo on the inside is in the same place. Could Yonex have just put their logo on a pair of NB 996s? Or done some reverse engineering thing like what UA did with Murray's Barricades?

A new shirt, shorts, skirt or dress won't affect how you play. Shoes can be different. A player gets used to a certain feel and it's not always easy to make an instant change. Swiatek continued to wear Asics shoes for a time after signing with On, Rybakina continued to wear Adidas shoes for a time after signing with Yonex, Opelka continued to wear New Balance shoes for a time after signing with Fila, Querry continued to wear K-Swiss shoes for a time after signing with Fila, etc, there are many other examples. Often players who've worn a certain shoe for a while won't change until they have a break in their playing schedule to get used to a different brand. Not all shoes feel or fit the same. And some players do have separate clothing and shoe contracts.

Definitely looks like they stamped some Yonex logos on her 996s.

Yep, some players switch right away and some don't.

That's why it was a question to me whether Fils would switch to Lacoste shoes right away, or even at all.

Dimitrov still wears Nike because I assume he's comfortable in them. And he's been with Lacoste for 6 months, so I assume he's just going to continue wearing Nike shoes.

With Medvedev I guess he had a hand in developing the then new Lacoste shoes?

New AG-LT21 Ultra tennis trainers. Discover a new generation of high performance tennis trainers. Developed with world number 2 Daniil Medvedev, the AG-LT21 Ultras are designed for players who always put the bar higher.
So I guess they made them for him, more or less.

With Fils I see that he's at least working with Asics to coordinate the colors of the shoe with his Lacoste outfits.

So the fashionista in me can rest a little more easy in knowing that Fils does care about style too. :giggle:

The whole "do what you do like you're doing it for TV" thing...

I'm sure Dimitrov will switch to Lacoste shoes eventually...Nike is stop making his custom Vapor 9, and Lacoste for sure will be making custom shoes for Dimitrov. Probably need some time to scan his feet and make custom shoes. Rybakina went Yonex head to toe earlier but kept wearing her adidas until this year, now she has her custom Yonex Eclipsion 5

Yeah, I can see that happening.

Also, now that he's almost in the top-10, I can see Lacoste doing that for him.

If you're ranked in the 20s and 30s and not on TV all the time, then it's highly unlikely they would do anything like that.

Top-10, though... yeah, they may do that.

Very cool.

Look good, feel good.

Feel good, play good.

Get 'em, Ons.

the rumor I've read today is Nike may drop golf entirely. Could tennis be far behind? They'll just focus on team sports.
That is possible. Their products have gotten very mundane and there are so many new clothing and shoe competitors on the golf side. Could be the same for tennis, but I do still see a lot of folks playing tennis in Nike (myself included).

They won't be cutting the MJ brand anytime soon...that thing is a cash cow.

thats not the case - they already executed a deal to license apparel to Srixon, but they will keep footwear indefinitely

tennis is likely to stick in it's limited capacity, especially with pickelball propping up racket sports vertical as a whole

You think the people playing pickleball care about what they wear?

clearly of room full of nike board members believes so, wouldn't be my strategic move, but might save tennis from golf's fate

i do fail to see how your question relates to the future of nike tennis

You stated that pickleball was propping up racket sports. What has cost Nike in golf is not being innovative. So if they don't continue to drop new shoes (Mac Attack, Jordan issued Vapors) and only keep throwing out basic clothes then they will end up in the same fate as their golf line.

Im probably nikes biggest critic on the forum. i've been wearing nike since 2004 exclusively and im well aware they havent innovated in tennis really since the GP turbo

pickleball is propping up racket sports popularity, which correlates with demand for gear. people google, pickleball shoes, and the nike GP offerings pop up. those are tennis shoes, so naturally the tennis segment will capture demand generated by pickleball players. that yields profitability & if they can sell shoes at retail MSRP it will also assure they maintain healthy margins. so yes, pickleball is propping up shoes/apparel sales in the racket sports industry and there's plenty of data to support that claim. Hell you could have even just tried google to see this dynamic play out: https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=nike+pickleball+shoes

Nike's innovation across all sports verticals has become a lesser focus, so im not sure what youre trying to say. do you think they will eventually just cease all athlete-centric offerings and become Oregon-based Gucci? pretty sure they have to course-correct at some point here
