Sponsorship Changes for 2024

oh noooo Fritz not with Nike? whatever will they do. Anyways how about Safiullin
Hah I feel the same, not really worried about him leaving. They’ve made it clear they’re only interested in long term deals with top tier talent. I wonder if he will wear the vp1 like manarinno without a Nike deal

Possibly! Could see him going to Fila or New Balance

Weren't we talking about someone (Shapo?) potentially switching to Lululemon or J Lindeberg along with Eubanks or something earlier this year... wonder if Fritz is the one

Just spitballing here but why don't Ralph Lauren sponsor players?

You'd think Fritz would be perfect. He oozes country club charm.
Outside of the US Open they were spending sponsorship money on golfers. After the JT incident, I think they just sponsor Billy Horschel and Smiley.

Curious about Watanuki’s racquet. Looks like an H25 at first glance (Azarenka/old Coric mold). Would make sense coming from a Pure Drive

In regard to Taylor and Nike, Nike are making cuts...

And I read in running shoes they were taking a bit of a hit too. Hoka and On were growing.

Interesting times ahead for Nike and tennis.

EDIT:

And forget winning slams, Sinner better start selling some shoes. :giggle:

Nike better start selling Sinners shoes!

For sure their market share is shrinking not just in tennis but in other sports particularly in running. I read an article where Hoka and ON have taken significant market share away form nike and adidas.
I believe it is due to the fact that ON and Hoka products are more superior in design and technology and better value. Nike is more of a show, while those other 2 are focused on the best product.

ON and HOKA are more superier in design and tech? Disagree.
if Nike wants, they can still have top tier design and technology, they just don't care that much nowadays. On and Hoka has more premium material and better quality, yes, but they also have higher retal prices. Technology wise, the cloudtech from ON is not an advanced tech at all. Same kind of structure was created way before ON started, and was abandoned eventually because of its performance. (For example, Adidas A3).
For tennis shoes, have you tried On Roger Pro? Without its brand and Roger's name behind it, is that a good Tennis shoe? Hell no. Any of the budget model tennis shoes from Nike Adidas or Asics have better cushion and durability than Roger Pro, at the same time cost maybe more than 100 dollar less.
And for ON's running shoes, which is supposed to be their signature shoe line, you can ask any serious runner in the world, from your neighourhood to Olympics, I'm sure no one will rank any of the ON running shoes in their top list.

Look's like Anna Kalinskaya moving away from Adidas? I noticed in her game with Ostapenko she was wearing off brand clothing? (Looked like Alo)

I imagine agents are aware his stocks are kind of at a low ebb with major winners Sinner, Alcaraz & Nadal at Nike
eh they took ruusuvuori from asics (a finnish company) - i suspect theyve seen wilsons moves into apparel/shoes (Sprint Pro seem to be good) and are probably pushing a bit harder for apparel etc

Which one is a finnish company?

asics is a Japanese company, not Finnish. They were famously known as Onitsuka Tiger before changing their name to asics in the 70's.

Yeah sorry I got my wires crossed with them - either way Asics have historically sponsored a lot of Scandinavian players like Enqvist, Nieminen etc... when there weren't huge amounts of players in their gear like now - so it was surprising they'd let him go to Head (still wearing their shoes)
