Sponsorship Changes for 2025

Noone cares for that Kyrgios slander...

And I am not saying that he is not getting treated well - I would very much guess he gets everything he wants and more, such as custom shoes
But Nike is just missing out on chances by not making more custom stuff for him
They’re not missing out when he hardly plays tournaments and when he does he’s only around for a round or two. The amount of time it takes to mass produce apparel and shoes wouldn’t be worth it.

I guess Sinner is around for more than 2 rounds at most tournaments ;)
Might want to read the entire comment again :)

Re-reading the thread my comment was referring to Kyrgios but I think the original comment was directed towards Sinner re: PE gear. With his results and what looks to be a fruitful next decade Nike should build some line around him. But they won’t.

I might be wrong but I think Karue Sell could be switching to Tecnifibre racquets soon (with sponsorship, hunch based on one of his Instagram stories). I remember he had tried an ISO in the past and liked it. He does rock Lacoste apparel already, so a full sponsorship TF x Lacoste could make sense!

He just confirmed he's switching to something on Youtube live.

I am fully convinced he's switching to TF now. He went to "pick up the new weapons" in Antwerp, close to where Dieter Calle is based (insta story two days ago). Today in the Youtube live he says he has been doing customizing work these days and learning a bunch of things, and then basically gives the whole TF marketing speech of the 2025 T-Fights (how swingweight has been dropping on the tour, due to balls coming up faster, etc).

He reacted to someone playing with a 345 SW in the comments and said his stick is around 290 unstrung 310 strung

Someone else asked what model he is switching to: "not an Aero 98, not a Percept... waiting for papers to be signed to tell more"

Finally, Karue states his favorite patterns are 18x19 and 16x20, so I would be surprised if he switched to something other than a 305S or an "underspec" ISO 305

Marcel Granollers too but it might just be those two on the main circuit.
I think so yeah but different deals, Pouille gets frames/bags from Prince but not sponsored, Granollers has a deal through Prince Japan giving him O3 Tours still but always in the Japan paintjobs, retired Joachim Johansson (coaching Vavassori these days and runs an academy/club in Sweden) is sponsored by Prince (Europe division I guess?) AND Nike weirdly

Your investigation skills have been proven worthy.

Probably not a sponsor change just a choice but Matteo Arnaldi has switched to the Uber 5 from Asics in his tournaments since the AO in Dallas and Delray Beach

Not necessarily a sponsorship change (too lazy to make a new thread) looks like Kostyuk is getting her own line of shoes with Wilson

It’s amazing to see how Wilson’s womens range has transformerd since Kostyuk joined in an ambassadorial role. She’s clearly doing her part and there must be some very talented young designers working there.

In a very short span of time (3-4 years?) Wilson’s womens range has gone from drab Senior Citizens midweek ladies style outfits to one of the coolest looking lines competing with Lululemon and brands like that. The one area that hadn’t been updated was the shoes so it’s pretty cool to see them take the next step.

Agreed, I'd put it above lulu, it's top tier imo. Tate Kuerbis seems to be bringing some of that heat from Nike!

That I don't know. Roddick wears a lot of random things so perhaps he was wearing their stuff but not sponsored.
Probably just got the clothes for free as a test or one time sponsor on his YouTube channel for a single video podcast. This happens more and more with video Podcast, the exception of News ones now being sponsored by own stuff they promote or having YouTube Membership/Patron because somehow YouTube likes to demonetize any kind of news on YouTube even from places like NBC, ABC, CBS that used to have standards until Donald Jon Trump when number 47 president.

When he beat Fonseca he played lights out tennis and wrote something like "Like B Borg!" on the camera afterwards. Watch the highlights on stateofsport211 channel

If that’s the case, that’s more like him saying he played like Björn Borg during that match. Unstoppable clay domination ala Borg at his peak on clay

makes sense - they can be the big fish in a small pond, get back end and treated like a king by a smaller brand - same as Federer > ON, especially as Nike are largely exiting tennis - and focusing in on his niche for cushioned shoes to support his lifestyle is a stronger marketing story too
Wouldn’t be a bad move - Nike will not grow with him like fed and on. Hoka tennis would be interesting lol

I hate this fake garbage comments that Nike is exiting tennis. Absolute fake news.

No dedicated tennis design team resulting in a substantial downgrade in style & a massive reduction in availability of tennis attire & shoes at Nike stores in Australia certainly doesn’t augur well for those of us in Oz.
Add to this the €70 shipping charge from Tennis Warehouse Europe and their lack of stock in comparison with the USA store - which we’re embargoed from buying from - and there’s certainly a substantial downturn in interest in buying Nike for myself and many others locally.
Ubiquitous, unavailable & expensive - not a winning formula.
Lululemon is relatively cheap here and ON shoes purchased locally are actually cheaper than Nike bought from Europe, assuming Europe even has what I want to buy.
Yonex shoes are readily available too, so I’ll be just fine, especially with the imminent demise of the ZVC4.

Can't believe Nike Australia doesn't ship their stuffs from Singapore when it's the logical thing to do.

Another thing to consider is that, much like the RF logo, I'm nearly certain that Nike not only designed but also owns the rights to the Rafa bull logo.

Nike has always treated Rafa much better than Fed, I'm guessing they will be a lot nicer about letting that logo go

Nadal to.... Hoka?!!

Losing not just Nadal but all the academy sponsorships and maybe a few "new" talents that could possible endorse their clothing in the long term.
EJ: (I don't remember the names of the teenage couple who make a good run at Miami from Nadal academy sponsored by Nike)
Hard to believe they are willing to lose that kind of exposure and being the first to look into new talents that come out from the academy, not to mention Rafa himself

Looked at another way it was a huge outlay for them to clothe all those personnel at discounted or complementary pricing. And if Rafa isn't playing then...
