Srdjan Djokovic, the father of the world's best tennis player Novak Djokovic, gave an interview to the Croatian media when he spoke extensively about current topics related to his son.


Djokovic senior admitted to Sportske Novosti that Novak exceeded his expectations four or five years ago, and when asked if Nole has a tendency to become the best of all time, he replied:

"I think you have the wrong question, he has no tendency, he is already the best of all time. According to the number of weeks spent at No. 1, and in head-to-head matches, according to the number of Masters titles, the only thing he lacks is Olympic gold and those two Grand Slam titles that he will win this year. He is the best and everything in the world of tennis depends on him. He can lose, but not because his opponent outplayed him, but because he allowed his opponent to beat him," said Srdjan Djokovic and added:

"He will not leave tennis yet, his career will last another year and a half, two, up to three at most, when all possible parameters will be in his possession. He is still the best tennis player in the world and one of the best athletes of all time. Well, an English journalist said last week, even though they are his fierce opponents, that his rivals are no longer Federer and Nadal, but compare him instead to Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan. He's that category for your."

You know, I don't blame Novak Djokovic anymore for breaking rackets, having bad behavior, making stupid statements and acting like a fool. He actually turned out to be OK considering how his father is.

This thread made me miss Toni Nadal. Tennis needs more people like him.

I agree for the most part but could the apple really have fallen that far from the tree?....... Can you imagine how intolerable this guy will be after Novak gets the record.

This statement pretty much explains Federer's big losses
 
I can't imagine Djokovic retiring unless he has the records and knows they can't be hunted down. Or in other words, until Nadal has retired so that at least his potential future Slam record is safe from his own peer. It's clear that Djokovic is very driven by records. He'll chase them till he can't, and he'll only stop adding to them when his direct competitors are officially no longer in the running.
 
This man is:
NOT Djokovic's coach or the coach of any player on any tennis tour, afaik.
NOT a commentator or pundit, for what that's worth.

He's just a dad. Dads talk rubbish about their children most of the time. That's his business/ prerogative.
But he can't be taken seriously, not at all. Consider him like any old crazed fan on a public tennis forum, no more no less!

It's official:

- Nadal never loses unless injured
- Djokovic never loses unless mentally goes missing or unmotivated
- Federer never loses unless facing an uninjured Nadal or unmotivated Djokovic

Threads like these are just another example of the undeserved vitriol that gets directed at novak. Just another opportunity to bash him. Pretty sad really.
I must ask why do some of you get so invested in rogers/rafas success and novaks demise? These people dont know you guys exist, lol.

How is Novak responsible for what he says and does? His father is a total jackass, but he's not to blame.
