I think that was the end of his peak.
He was still making SFs all the time.

Apart from his SF streak being snapped, his 2010 actually had better results than 2008.
He won a Slam in both years, but unlike in 2008, he managed to win WTF and a Masters in 2010. Year-end number 2 in both years.
Combine that with the fact that 2007 was better than 2009 for him, the 2008 drop-off was bigger as a result of that.

Don't really care whose peak is higher, tennis is about playing at a high level consistently.

If Rg 2014 was stans peak, well its not a very high level of tennis LOL. Peak play usually means a straight set affair. He's the only guy in top 5 to not win a slam in straights.

Novak's average level is already higher than the peak levels of 90% players on tour. Stan can easily get beaten by a nonamer, LOL.

And stans h2h with Nole is actually getting worse year on year.

In ONE match(for example a final), peak level could very easily be a deciding factor.

Stan truly is the wild card and the ultimate game changer at the AO this year. Where he lands up and what form he is in will decide the fate of a lot of players. I think the Stanimal is going to turn up, and he is going to cause some serious damage out there.
