i like to try this method to tie cross

if i use 2 piece method there are 2 finishing knots for mains if i use starting clamp that is also a finishing knot for start of cross? then 1 more finish knot for end of crosses that means 4 finishing knots and 0 starting knots?

Very standard procedure.

Most of the time I weave 4 crosses with a “short end” of the string before Clamping with the starting clamp

I use a pro-knot¹ as a starting-knot. Weave 4 crosses, pull first 2 crosses in one pull (old rule: never pull directly on a knot).
The nose of the knot would prevent it to be pulled into the grommet (never happens).
In fact, the knot always needs to be tightened; I tighten after finishing all crosses, using pliers in a lever-way.

Advantages:
- no string waste
- compact knot
- all 4 knots same

¹: in fact a simple overhand knot around the ankerstring; I "catch" the ankerstring in the knot. After pulling tension it ends as a proknot

TY. i will give this a try since I like finishing knot more than loose starting knot that damaged grommmt.
