What does "unreturned serve" mean? Djokovic having 19 means that he hit 19 serves that Nadal couldn't return or the opposite?
If this is about Djokovic having 19 free points then the difference between Nadal and Joker is only 1 point, favoring Nadal. Of course I don't know the UE count, but it still is very impressive how equal those guys are.

Cool stats.
So, that means there was not much separating the two in terms of winners too (of course result was close too).
I guess Joker chap is still growing. He is still building up confidence and would be better next year. Physicality of Nadal's game seem to ruffle him up.
And he needs to watch out for his breathing issue. HE was panting heavily at the end of second set. So, if a match heads towards tight four sets or five sets against a machine like Nadal, it can be diffcicult for him.

Wow, it's amazing how close the statistics are for the final. It reinforces my opinion that the main difference between them at the moment is mental. Rafa has more experience and confidence on crucial points. Djokovic is still a little "green" in the mental department.

Meaning that Djokovic hit 19 serves that Nadal couldn't return(not counting aces though)

I didn't do stats for their FO match, but late in the match(5-6 in the 3rd) Djokovic had a 30-21 lead in winners, according to NBC.

hmmm..u r right.
Novak had a set point in the first set tiebreak and lost three points in a row to lose the set. He was serving for the second set and lost 3 games in a row to lose the match!
Of course, the credit goes equally to Nadal's tenacity

The question is, how did someone with that weak of a forehand hit 2 or 3 non-passing winners against Nadal? Dropshot?

One of them was a net-cord backhand return winner(just dribbled over) And one was a drop shot. I think the only forehand winner Roddick had when both were at the baseline came in the 1st game of the match(big serve, easy putaway)

Nadal clearly won on passing shot winners, but how many times did he come to the net compared to his opponents? He's good at the net and he's good at passing shots, but that particular stat doesn't really show how well you're doing at those things unless you have a number of net approaches to provide context.

This confirms all Ive been saying lately. Djokovic and Nadal are on par qualitywise on grass. The difference - curent form and mental shape of Nadal. Does not mean any meeting in the future would be a lock on win but he has the edge thus far.

^^^ Yes, but Nadal did have 5 more break point opportunities. It seems that the match vs. Roddick should have been a blowout when comparing the winners, but Roddick was probably able to keep it close with his powerful serve.
