Stefanos Tsitsipas and Theodora Petalas have ended their relationship, according to the show "Our Breakfast".

Tsitsipas and his ex-partner decided to separate as the distance and the many trips the Greek tennis star makes has made their relationship difficult, according to the report of the show.

Stefanos Tsitsipas will seemingly dedicate himself to tennis exclusively.

In an interview in 2021 with Down Town magazine, Stefanos Tsitsipas had revealed the background of their relationship, saying they first met in New York.

Theodora Petalas was born in Greece to a German mother and a Greek father and lives permanently in New York. Her father is a businessman, while her family has famililial ties to the Dutch royal house.

She now works in London as a junior strategist for a branding and marketing agency.

Before moving to the UK, she was living in the United States, where she studied at New York University.

She graduated with a bachelor of arts and a master of science specialising in project management and technology.

Tsitsipas confirmed in 2021 that he started dating Petalas two years previously. It is believed they met through family friends in New York.

The tennis ace said: "I liked her very much, but I was shy then and did not express my feelings.

"But two years ago, again in New York, I asked her out on a date.

"I asked her to go to Brooklyn to snap some photos and I think she liked that. I did take some photos, which to this day are my favourites.

However, the relationship remains long distance, and Petalas is not a regular at Tsitsipas' matches.

He said of the situation: “It’s a little difficult for us, because she lives in London. But thankfully it hasn’t brought us to extremes.

"She comes to some tournaments to support me and so we can spend some time together. She is my best friend... We talk every day, for two or three years now."

Photos of them from joint appearances made the rounds of the internet, as they were rarely "spotted" by the paparazzi lens.

Cuisine is both an art and a science: it is an art when it strives to bring about the realization of the true and the beautiful, called le bon (the good) in the order of culinary ideas. As a science, it respects chemistry, physics and natural history. Its axioms are called aphorisms, its theorems recipes, and its philosophy gastronomy.”

He could do better imo.
Because a person that's not the utmost physically attractive is automatically a worse option for building a relationship than more physically atttrative people? You'd think with them being together for 5 years, it'd be pretty obvious that Tsitsipas liked her for more than just looks.

Post your pic.
What if it turns out he has supermodel looks? Would that make the comment okay?

So often people try to defend against less than nice comments on someone's appearance by attacking the offending person's appearance. What it effectively does is solidify the position that being less physically attractive somehow devalues people.

It’s not really about her looks, she is cute and seems to be quite an intelligent young woman as well. Perhaps he could find someone more attractive but she’s certainly pretty by any standard, but that’s not what I’m on about.

I think Stefanos is a quite fragile and thoughtful young man who needs a lot of attention and care. He has a very demanding and stressful life and imo deserves someone who is willing to go on the road with him and save him from spending time with his domineering father.

The fact that she wasn’t at the AO or RG finals, the biggest matches of his life, is quite telling. And the article shows her looking mostly unhappy. I think he is more into her than she is into him, and he deserves someone who loves him enough to be there.

I see. Not sure that by looking at a couple pictures of them you can actually tell what the dynamic was in the relationship.

Honestly I think it's pretty difficult to be in a relationship with a tennis player without subordinating your life to theirs. It's not like a footballer where half the season is at home, your partner will be travelling almost all year. If you want to pursue your own career, you're basically not going to see each other.
Yea but if you're really soulmates in love you'd deal with it anyway

You should win the TTW version of the sportsmanship award every year. I am not being sarcastic.

He probably just backtracked after your wise and sensible post lol. Props to you, I was thinking the same thing when I read his post, it's the kind of thing that irritates me. But it happens all the time on TTW and it's not gonna change anytime soon.

I think that Tsitsipas should worry about improving his backhand than wasting time in a relationship that is not going well.
He is still very young but in tennis, more and more there will be obstacles that are difficult to overcome, such as a certain Carlitos Alcaraz who seems to have taken his measure.
:cautious:

well maybe she could do better, she seems intelligent and has an academic background, he is an spoiled brat that hits his father with a racquet and thinks he is so special for hitting a ball good
Lmaoooooo

I hate this undying need for the public to be in the know of celebrities/athletes private lives. Who cares? Let them live their lives.
Obviously lots of people care (not me, but plenty of others) which is why it still gets reported.

I pity her for wasting her time on him. Hard to believe anyone would....
He's not in the Kyrgios league of stupidity, but he's up there.
