You immediately run into problems if you start trying to define points of realistic feasability for a comeback. I think it definitely has to be a case that all retirements, regardless of when they happen during the match, are treated exactly the same.

As such I'm perfectly happy with the current ruleset regarding retirements, walkovers, and lucky losers ^^

Your right, it'll create a flaw in the game, its not possible to identify between unassailable leads and leads that can be shortened in matches.

Best to stick with the format and hope there are as few retirements as possible.
